The classic 1997 PS1 game Herc's Adventures has just received Trophy support on PlayStation 4. This retro action-adventure title, developed by Big Ape Productions and published by LucasArts, now rewards PS Plus Premium players with virtual trophies for their in-game achievements.
The PS Plus Premium Trophy support in classic games allows players to earn a variety of trophies as they progress through a game. Trophies are divided into four categories (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum), each representing the difficulty or importance of the in-game tasks. The Platinum trophy is the highest achievement for players who complete all other trophy requirements. In 2020, the Trophy system was updated to expand the level range from 1 to 999, making every trophy earned a valuable addition to a player’s overall ranking.
Available exclusively through the PS Plus Premium service, Trophy support for Herc's Adventures will only be accessible on the PS4. For those who aren't familiar, Herc's Adventures is a comedic action-adventure game from the PS1 era, set in a whimsical version of Ancient Greece. Players can choose from three characters; Hercules, Atlanta, or Jason, each with their own unique abilities that shape the gameplay. Players need to navigate a world full of mythological creatures, puzzles, and a good dose of humor in order to rescue Persephone from Hades.

Players can also explore different areas in any order, fight enemies, and use a range of weapons and abilities. The game’s top-down view, colorful cartoonish graphics, and open-ended gameplay, along with the humorous health system where characters lose weight as they get hurt, have made it well-regarded among fans of classic PS1 video games.
The new Trophy support for Herc's Adventures follows the trend seen with other classic games. Recently, both Thrillville, the theme park sim, and Resistance: Retribution for the PSP received their own Trophy updates. In Thrillville, players can earn trophies by completing various in-game challenges, including running missions in the park, and Resistance: Retributio n now has 28 trophies in total, with 1 Platinum, 7 Gold, 8 Silver, and 12 Bronze.
Herc's Adventures now joins the ranks of classic games that have been modernized for today’s players, offering fans the chance to enjoy its unique blend of action, humor, and mythological adventure with the added incentive of Trophy hunting. As part of the PS Plus Premium lineup, this update ensures that Herc's Adventures remains an enjoyable experience.
