There are a lot of things to play around with in 7 Days To Die, and if you're an avid builder or if you're the type who wants to experiment with equipment, you can do both without worrying about resources or zombies via Creative Mode.

Creative Mode lets players spawn almost every item in the game and alter a few important parameters. For returning players, it's a great way to explore what's new in the 7 Days To Die 1.0 update, and for everyone else, it's a more relaxed way to figure out how the game works. Here's how to enter Creative Mode.

Surviving the Blood Moon in 7 Days to Die is no mean feat, but it becomes a little more doable if players equip these armor pieces.

Unlike in some other games, players can enter creative mode in 7 Days To Die by simply toggling a setting while creating a new world or choosing a save file in the main menu. In the World settings screen when starting a game, look for the Creative Mode option in the Advanced tab and turn it on. Naturally, this will only work in singleplayer mode or if you're the host of a multiplayer game.

Once Creative Mode is on, load into your game, then open the inventory screen. At the top, click on the icon to the far right to open the Creative Menu. From here, you can add any item straight into your inventory, including the best weapons in 7 Days To Die and experimental items that are not included in any of the game's loot pools.

The quality of items in the Creative Menu will change every time the menu itself is refreshed. An easy way to force a refresh is to repeatedly re-type the name of the item you want in the search bar.

To transfer items to your inventory, click and drag anything you want and place it in a vacant inventory slot. Stacking rules apply here — if you're holding a particularly large stack of items but only want one or two pieces, right-click on an inventory slot (LT/L2 for controllers) to drop individual pieces into your bag.

For PC players, you can find extra keybinds for cheats like God Mode, Fly Mode, and Invisibility by opening the Options menu and going to Keyboard/Mouse Settings. The default keybinds for these are:

  • God Mode: Q
  • Invisible Mode: Num Divide
  • Fly Mode: H
  • Increase God Speed: Shift + =
  • Decrease God Speed: Shift + -

As always, keep in mind that Creative Mode is reserved for testing or for when you simply want to build bases without resource constraints. The latter is especially useful for players who want to experiment with base designs for 7 Days To Die's blood moon horde nights, which can prove to be very challenging in the later stages of the game.
