Even the smallest of maps in 7 Days To Die can be hard to explore on foot, but thankfully, players can make a number of different vehicles to make their travels less tedious. Naturally, you'll need to get some components before you can make your vehicle of choice, and that includes wheels.

Wheels are somewhat hard to find early on, especially if your luck isn't as good as you want it to be. Still, there are some ways to make your search less time-consuming, giving you ample time to prepare for your first few nights in 7 Days To Die.

Where To Find Wheels In 7 Days To Die

If you're looking to loot some wheels, your best bet is to hit the garages of gas stations and mechanic shops. Check the vehicles, crates, and other large containers you find inside. They have a fairly low drop rate, but perks like Lucky Looter may help improve those chances. If wheels aren't appearing in containers at all, you may need to advance your loot stage first by finding or crafting better gear and completing trader quests.

Speaking of traders, they'll occasionally have some wheels for sale in exchange for Casino Tokens. If you have the coins to spare, you can buy wheels for around 900 Dukes each. If you don't, then consider doing more quests or collecting some of the best items to sell to 7 Days To Die traders and make money that way.

Vehicle Adventures magazine in 7 Days To Die

Players who manage to get lucky during their scavenging runs might come across magazines that unlock crafting recipes for wheels and other vehicle parts. The magazine you're looking for is called Vehicle Adventures — reading one of these magazines gives you one point for your Vehicle crafting skill. You need five points in that skill to unlock recipes for the Bicycle and, of course, wheels.

Once you do unlock the recipe for wheels, you'll need the following:

  • 3x Forged Iron: Made by smelting Iron and Clay in a Furnace. May occasionally be found as loot.
  • 24x Scrap Polymers: Obtained by scavenging garbage piles and plastic trash like traffic cones, or by dismantling electronics with a Disassembly Tool.
  • 2x Oil: Can be looted from gas stations, mechanic shops, and other industrial areas.
  • 15x Coal: Mined from Coal deposits.
  • 1x Acid: Can be looted from sinks, garbage piles, trucks, and Working Stiff crates, among many other similar loot sources.

Luckily, all of these resources are fairly easy to find. Raiding the best early POIs in 7 Days To Die can net you a healthy number of most of these resources. Coal, on the other hand, can be a little tricky to find in the beginning, but once you find a Coal vein in the wild, you'll have no issue getting more.
