With the release of 7 Days To Die 1.0, there are lots of new players taking to the post-apocalyptic ruins of Navezgane for the very first time. Within the first few days, most players will have built a forge. Forges are used for crafting components that can be used to make better quality weapons, armor, and tools.

Most players will want to move their forge further into the game when they start expanding, changing, or moving to new locations. Some newer players may not know that it is possible to pick up a forge and place it almost anywhere you like. This guide will go through how to do this.

7 Days to Die: How to Use Land Claim Block

Land Claim Block has several functions in 7 Days to Die, and this guide explains how to use this structure.

How To Pick Up A Forge

Land Claim Block In 7 Days To Die

Unlike the older versions of 7 Days To Die, you can't use a wrench to break down and pick up a forge. If you break a forge in version 1.0, then you'll lose both the forge and its contents. To pick up a forge, you need to place down a land claim block. These can be crafted for just 5 stone. Land claim blocks create a safe perimeter that will prevent zombies from spawning within its radius. Not only that but as long as the forge is inside the radius of the land claim block, it can be picked up.

You can have up to 3 land claim blocks active at any given time. Once you've placed one, you can interact with it to make it show its bounds. This allows you to see the land claim block's radius. To pick up a forge, simply interact with it and select the hand icon. You'll then be able to pick it up.

There are a couple of important things to note about picking up a forge. Firstly, you can't pick it up if it isn't empty. Make sure that there are no smelted materials, fuel sources, or anything else inside the forge. It needs to be completely empty before you can pick it up. The second thing that's worth noting is that it will take 15 seconds to pick up the forge. While it's not an issue, it can be annoying, especially if you want to pick up multiple forges.

Picking Up Other Crafting Stations

A Forge In 7 Days To Die

The land claim block doesn't just let you pick up your forge. You can also pick up other crafting stations like campfires, workbenches, and chemistry stations. Just like with the forge, they need to be within the bounds of the land claim block, and completely empty. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to pick up any storage boxes, even if they are empty. So, prior to upgrading your storage boxes, just make sure that they are exactly where you want them to be. Moving all of your storage boxes is a long and tedious job, so place them wisely.

By using a land claim block to pick up your crafting stations, you can easily move to a new home. If you want to move them all to a new base, then you can place down a land claim block, pick up all of your crafting stations, and then just remove the land claim block when you are done.
