You can now play A Minecraft Movie DLC for free via the Marketplace while you wait for the movie to come out. It is the latest in-game promo that you can get your hands on, and it comes with three Minecraft mini-games and a total of seven playable characters.
What makes the entire thing particularly fun is that the mini-games themselves are arcade in nature, set up in Garrett's video game store. You can choose a character or skin when you wish to start a game. However, interacting with Garrett at the counter is pretty fun as well, since his dialogue tone matches with that of his movie character. With that said, here's a rundown on all the Minecraft mini-games and unlockable characters in A Minecraft Movie DLC.

How To Complete All Mini-Games In A Minecraft Movie DLC
First Night Survival
The objective of this mini-game is simple: survive as long as you can. This seems pretty easy at first, but as you'll soon find out, A Minecraft Movie DLC can leave you floundering here. The biggest obstacle is that you can't break blocks to build your own defenses. You also have to kill dangerous Minecraft mobs and loot chests to craft and ensure your survival.
It's important that you don't neglect picking up after mobs; chests are far and few, while the creatures only increase in count. The night won't end if you don't kill them either.
Here are the best items for First Night Survival in A Minecraft Movie DLC:
- Scatterer: Deals AoE damage to mobs.
- Trap: Captures mobs who walk into it and damages them.
- Decoy: Distracts mobs and explodes afterward.
- Battle Axe: Sweeps up and knocks enemies back, giving you time to escape or hit them.
- Buck-Chuckets: Stuns, knocks-back, or crits the mobs.
The other available weapons in this Minecraft mini-game, like Turret, Explosive, and Saxophones, are decent as well. However, these aren't the priority picks if you want to last eight nights in First Night Survival and unlock Dawn and Natalie in A Minecraft Movie DLC.
Just keep moving, collecting drops, and crafting deployables and melee weapons. The first couple of nights in First Night Survival are easy enough, but the difficulty really amps up from the third onwards.
Elytra Chase
Completing the Elytra Chase mini-game sounds simple enough, and it can be. This is perhaps the easiest mini-game to complete in A Minecraft Movie DLC. All you have to do is fly through a set course comprising various biomes while dodging obstacles and getting boosts. Still, the moving piglin-ghast combo from A Minecraft Movie can be irksome, and the terrain isn't simple either. If you fall down or hit any target, that's it — one life over.
There are two kinds of boosts that you can fly through: Elytra and Rockets. The former deducts five seconds from your overall time, and the latter gives you a burst of speed. This is important; you can't use rockets otherwise. Naturally, there are also red herrings here and there, and your run will be better if you avoid what look like particularly tricky boost placements. Once you get the hang of things, you can easily get a sub-two-minutes run in Elytra Chase and unlock Garrett and Piglin character skins in A Minecraft Movie DLC.
Minecraft’s New Mob Could Hold the Key to Its Next Evolution
Minecraft's new Ghastling and Happy Ghast mobs show there's a lot of room for new creatures, especially those bridging dimensions and lore.
Mansion Stealth
Mansion Stealth can initially seem like the trickiest Minecraft DLC mini-game, but that right is reserved for First Night Survival. The objective here is simple: steal the Earth Crystal from the Mansion and escape. Doing so can be pretty difficult, however, as the building is pretty large, the halls are crawling with mobs, and you don't have a map to guide you.
Nevertheless, there is a straightforward path you can take — through this, you can complete Mansion Stealth in under three minutes and unlock Henry and Villager character skins in A Minecraft Movie DLC.
Here's the quickest path in the Mansion Stealth mini-game in the new Minecraft DLC drop:
- As soon as you start, run towards the right side of the building. Climb the vines to the first level, pick up the time boost, climb the vines on the left, and get the checkpoint right ahead.
- Head inside the Mansion and pick up the time boost on the left.
- Go straight across and into the hallway on the right. Dodge the illagers in your way.
- Take a left, then a right, and jump down to the lower level. Hide in the pot right next to you.
- Turn back around and head into the room behind you. Pick up the Totem of Undying in the doorway and the Earth Crystal from the chest.
- Take a left and go through the portrait. Lean into the other room to check for the patrolling mob. Then, jump through.
- Go to the next hall, turn left, and jump to the staircase below for the checkpoint.
- Hide in either banner at the bottom and run straight across once the path is clear.
- Take a left into the side room, avoid the mob, and run out the window.
If you time it right (it might take you a run or two), this Minecraft mini-game can be pretty easy to complete.
