The Warner Bros. Production studio is currently contemplating a lot of changes to the DCEU film slate and universe. Whether current upcoming releases like Aquaman 2 and The Flash are the end of the DCEU and the start of a new DC film universe remains to be seen.

One of the more successful properties for the DCEU over the past few years has been Wonder Woman, featuring Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins as a team in front of and behind the camera. There are a number of fans who have begun to fan-cast a new Wonder Woman in case the DCEU is rebooted soon, and the variety of actresses considered is massive. Here are a few who could take on the iconic character.

7 Ana De Armas

Ana De Armas In Blonde

Ana De Armas is a particular fan favorite casting for the role of Wonder Woman. While she has never entered a superhero franchise, the Cuban and Spanish actress has taken on similar roles, such as that of Paloma in the James Bond franchise and as Joi in Blade Runner 2049. She most recently appeared in The Gray Man, which was directed by the Russo Brothers of Avengers fame.

As her latest project, starring as Marilyn Monroe in Blonde, is about to be released, De Armas may be looking for her next major career move. While Gal Gadot is hugely capable and still young enough to continue playing Diana Prince, any DC reboot could open the door to a new and well-established face taking over the role.

6 Elodie Yung

Elodie Yung In The Defenders

Elodie Yung is another hugely talented star who has already shone in the superhero genre as Elektra on Marvel’s Daredevil. While Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are making an announced comeback for Daredevil: Born Again, there has been no announcement about Elodie Yung returning as Elektra.

Yung has also appeared in major blockbusters such as The Hitman’s Bodyguard and Gods of Egypt and has both the action chops and the superhero experience to make a great Wonder Woman. While she is older than some names on this list, a DC Universe with an already-established Justice League would find her a wonderful presence to add.

5 Jaimie Alexander

Jaimie Alexander In Thor

Jaimie Alexander was being fan-cast as Wonder Woman long before Gal Gadot was even cast. She is still young enough to manage the role, and recently she reprised her own superhero role as Lady Sif in Thor: Love and Thunder. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look likely she’ll be recurring much more in that particular role, but a major DC turn could still be on the table.

Alexander starred in the hugely successful Blindspot, and since it ended, has been looking for another big project. She could provide an excellent presence as Wonder Woman for a new take on the DC Universe.

4 Kaya Scodelario

Kaya Scodelario In Crawl

Kaya Scodelario will be known to fans for her early career appearances in Skins and The Maze Runner movies, but she also appeared more recently as the star of the tense thriller Crawl. She could easily take on a youthful version of Princess Diana for a long run in the role.

She has no major franchise commitments currently, but has proven her acting chops on multiple occasions. She could easily become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars with a turn as Wonder Woman.

3 Adrianne Palicki

Adrianne Palicki As Wonder Woman

It may seem like a pipe dream for Adrianne Palicki at this point, but the star did play Wonder Woman in an unaired TV pilot in 2011 and could still do justice to the role today. It may seem unlikely, but Pedro Pascal also starred in that pilot alongside her and went on to appear in a Wonder Woman film.

Palicki did go on to a role as Mockingbird in Agents of SHIELD, but has never captured a major film superhero role to date. Whether she could bring an established Diana to life on-screen remains to be seen, but it would be a long-awaited turn for her.

2 Alexandra Daddario

Alexandra Daddario In Baywatch

Alexandra Daddario is another known quantity to fans for her turn in the Percy Jackson films as Annabelle. She also appeared in the Texas Chainsaw reboot in 2013 and seemed on her way to huge success. But after appearing in San Andreas and Baywatch, her career has slowed slightly and awaits a major role such as this.

Daddario is a major Hollywood name already, and could easily become one of the biggest stars in the world with the role of Wonder Woman. She has a great on-screen presence and great action chops behind her to boot. Not to mention she has a great comedic history, which DC may value as executives talk about using the MCU as a template for their own films going forward.

1 Katie Cassidy

Katie Cassidy In Arrow

Katie Cassidy has already made herself a favorite with DC fans, having played Laurel Lance/Black Canary on Arrow for many years for the CW. While she isn’t as huge a film star as some other suggested names, she has the acting chops and experience to put in an incredible Wonder Woman performance.

Cassidy is now waiting for another major project after the end of Arrow two years ago. If the DC Universe reboots, there will be a lot of fans needing something to excite them and reinvigorate the audiences. Cassidy as Wonder Woman, a face recognized as a superhero, could be just that.
