AEW Fight Forever needs more match types and features, but one of the most challenging is AEW's take on WWE's Royal Rumble called the Casino Battle Royale. The AEW version has 21 wrestlers fight it out for a shot at the world championship. Every time a wrestler is eliminated, a new performer walks to the ring and competes in the match.
Much like the Royal Rumble, the goal is to throw an opponent over the top rope and avoid being eliminated. In addition to the singles, AEW Fight Forever has the team version of the battle royale. The team variation features teams of four wrestlers and allows players to carry on as the team member if or when they have been eliminated.
Winning The Casino Battle Royale In AEW Fight Forever
The first match in AEW Fight Forever's Road to Elite career mode is the Casino Battle Royale. Players don't have to win the match to continue, but winning the opening match will result in the player's character getting a title shot in the story mode. If players are determined to win the first match, picking the right opponent is vital to success. The following wrestlers are good choices for winning the Battle Royale:
- Paul Wight - Paul Wight is an unlockable character in AEW Fight Forever and may be the best battle royal specialist in the game. He has the Battle Royale and Elimination buffs which boost momentum for lasting more than five minutes and eliminating opponents. He also has the Guard Break skill, which can break through an opponent's guard and hit them over the ropes. The 2-for-1 attack buff boosts Wight's momentum for grappling two opponents at the same time. The Back Against the Wall buff increases his momentum when pushing opponents against the ropes. Finally, Wight's Unyeilding Poise skill adds weight detection making him hard to slam and stagger.
- Cody Rhodes - has striking proficiency, rebound attack, down but not out, elite defense, and the 2-for-1 buffs. Cody's submission signature can wear down opponents so he can throw them out of the ring. Cody is an unlockable character in AEW Fight Forever.
- Wardlow - a powerhouse with Unyielding Poise, the Elimination Buff, Guardbreak, and the Back Against the Wall.
- Nyla Rose - power wrestler who has the Back Against the Wall, Rebound Attack, and 2-for-1 buffs. She also has the Guardbreak and Strike Proficiency skills to knock opponents out of the ring.
- Lance Archer - a powerhouse with Unyielding Poise, Back Against the Wall, 2-for-1, and the Elimination buffs. Archer also has Strike Proficiency and Guard Break skills.
Surviving The Battle Royale In AEW Fight Forever
The best way to survive and win the Casino Battle Royale in AEW Fight Forever is to let the other wrestlers fight and wear each other down. Use taunts to raise momentum and attack with light attacks and grapples. Use the Signature moves, but avoid using the Special attacks, as this will deplete the momentum bar. Moreover, players can hit opponents with multiple Signature moves to wear down opponents and get the eliminations.
- Wear down opponents until they are in the blue or the danger zone on their momentum bar.
- With the opponent in danger, hold down the LT on Xbox, L2 on PlayStation, LZ on Switch, or the N button on the keyboard to Irish Whip into or over the top rope.
- Use a combination of light and heavy strikes when an opponent is backed up against the ropes.
- Grapple the opponent with A/X/B/K on the keyboard and use the R-stick or the WSDA buttons to push them against the ropes, and use a strike grapple with X or Y/Square and Triangle/Y and X/J and I on the keyboard.
- This can cause an elimination.
- Unfortunately, there is a lot of luck in the battle royale because as the match wears on, wrestlers can be eliminated even when their momentum is high.
AEW Fight Forever is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
