Favor is one of the main resources that players need to obtain in Age of Mythology: Retold. However, it's completely different from Food, Wood, and Gold, which can be found on the map. Unlike the other resources, Favor must be earned, and how it's earned depends on which civilization the player chooses at the start of the game.
Age of Mythology: Retold - How to Rotate Buildings
Here is how to angle buildings in Age of Mythology: Retold.
This guide tells players what they need to know about earning favor in Age of Mythology: Retold, regardless of the civilization that they're commanding.
How to Earn Favor as the Greeks
The Greeks can get Favor much more easily compared to the other civilizations in Age of Mythology: Retold. When playing as a Greek civilization, gamers can earn Favor by ordering Villagers to pray at the Temple. The more Villagers assigned to the Temple, the more Favor the player will generate.
To increase the Favor generation rate, players must continue to produce Villagers at their Town Center and then sending them to the Temple.
How to Earn Favor as the Egyptians
To get more favor as an Egyptian civilization, players will have to build Monuments. In total, there are five Monuments that players can build, and every time another one of these Monuments is built, Favor generation increases.
To build each Favor-generating Monument in Age of Mythology: Retold, gamers don't need to advance to the next age - they only have to acquire the required materials:
|
Monument |
Required Materials |
|---|---|
|
Monument to Villagers |
|
|
Monument to Soldiers |
|
|
Monument to Priests |
|
|
Monument to Pharaohs |
|
|
Monument to Gods |
|
Once gamers have the required materials for the Monument, they must select a Villager and have them build it. They can get the building up and running faster by sending a Pharaoh unit in its direction to speed up the construction process.
Even though each Monument is its own building rather than an upgrade, players can only build these Monuments in order. This means that to build the Monuments to Gods, players must have built the four previous Monuments.
Egyptians with Set or Isis as their Major Gods can significantly increase the Favor they generate per minute by choosing Anubis as a Minor God when they advance to the Classical Age. Anubis allows them to research the Necropolis technology, which increases Favor generation by 25 percent.
How to Earn Favor as the Norse
Norse civilizations get Favor when dealing damage either to creatures, enemy units, or buildings. It's quite hard to earn Favor as the Norse if the player doesn't have an aggressive playstyle.
To increase their Favor in Age of Mythology: Retold, Norse civilization will want to make sure that they attack enemies and raid their bases fairly often. Selecting a few Military units so they can take down a few Villagers or destroy some structures can be enough to gather Favor to produce a Myth unit or use a god power.
While playing as the Norse, players can turn their Gatherers and Dwarves into the Berserk unit. If they choose Thor, Loki, or Freyr, they'll be able to select Bragi as their Minor God when they reach the Heroic Age, which gives them access to the Call of Valhalla upgrade. When players research this technology, they'll receive +1 Favor for each fallen Berserk.
How to Earn Favor as the Atlanteans
To earn Favor as an Atlantean civilization, players must create Oracle units and order them to remain stationary anywhere on the map. The Oracle works quite well as a Scout unit since it has an outstanding line of sight, but if it stays still, it generates Favor at a much higher rate.
The more Oracles the player has on the map, the more Favor they'll be able to generate per minute. Additionally, the Oracle has been upgraded to a hero, the rate increases further.
Players must keep in mind that if Oracles' vision overlaps, they won't generate as much Favor, so they should keep an eye on their line of sight to make sure that this doesn't happen.
