How to Unlock the Hydra
Gamers will be able to choose Minor Gods according to their civilization's Pantheon. Each Minor God has their own unique Myth Units, upgrades, and god powers. Hydras are unlocked in the Heroic Age in Age of Mythology: Retold, and to be able to build Hydras, gamers must choose Dionysus as their Heroic Age Minor God.
Only Zeus and Poseidon can choose Dionysus as their Minor God, so in order to have access to Hydra units, gamers must pick one of these two Pantheons when setting up a game of Age of Mythology: Retold.
How to Build Hydra Units
The Hydra is a Myth Unit so it must be produced at a Temple. To train a Hydra in Age of Mythology: Retold, gamers will need the following resources:
- 250 Food
- 28 Favor
On top of these resources, Hydras require a considerable number of free population spots. If players chose Poseidon as their Pantheon, they'll need 4 Population to build it, but if they chose Zeus, they'll only need 3 due to his unique perk that makes it so Myth Units cost less 1 Population than usual.
