When playing as an Egyptian civilization in Age of Mythology: Retold, gamers have to choose between three Major Gods: Ra, Isis, and Set. There are nine Minor Gods in Age of Mythology's Egyptian pantheon, and each Major God has access to six of these nine gods. Minor Gods aren't exclusive to any of the Major Gods, but they all have their own combinations for each Age.

Major Gods have their own unique perks, and they also have powers and upgrades during the Archaic Age that are only exclusively available to them. The versatility within each civilization is clear and it is why players must become familiar with Major God in Age of Mythology: Retold. This guide focuses on Isis and tells players what they need to know to come out victorious.

Isis Unique Perks in Age of Mythology: Retold

Isis has five unique perks, and gamers must take them into consideration when planning their towns as this Major God.

  • Isis's Town Centers and Citadel Centers support +5 Population
  • Isis's Monuments provide protection against enemy god powers (25 base range, 50 empowered range)
  • Isis's empowered Monuments heal nearby units (50 range) and generate Favor 100 percent faster
  • Techhnology is 10 percent cheaper to research
  • Obelisks only cost 5 Gold and are built 60 percent faster

When players construct a Town Center as Isis, their population cap will go up by 5, allowing them to build more units. Her Monuments are also particularly overpowered, especially when strengthened by a Pharaoh. Isis's Monuments keep her cities safe from enemy god powers, and when empowered, the range only increases, and as if that weren't enough, Monuments boosted by a Pharaoh can heal units and generate twice as fast.

Additionally, Isis gets two discounts: technology can be researched for 10 percent less of its cost and Obelisks require half the usual amount of Gold.

Isis Tech Tree in Age of Mythology: Retold

Players will get to pick several Minor Gods as they advance through the various Ages in Age of Mythology: Retold, and the choices available to them are what define Isis's Egyptian pantheon.

Archaic Age

The Archaic Age is where each Major God gets to shine, as it's when their unique god powers, upgrades, and units stand alone. As players advance through the Ages, they'll gain access to Minor Gods which coincide with some of the other Major God's options. During the Archaic Age, Isis players will get access to Prosperity and Flood of the Nile:

  • Prosperity (god power)

When players activate Prosperity, their villagers and trade caravans will temporarily collect Gold faster.

  • Flood of the Nile (upgrade)

For 135 Gold and 5 Favor, players will receive a continuous Food income. The sooner this is researched, the sooner players will start benefiting from it.

Classical Age

To enter the Classical Age, players who picked Isis must choose Bast or Anubis as a Minor God.

  • Bast focuses on laborers and gives access to the following techs:
    • Eclipse (god power)
    • Sphinx (Myth unit)
    • Criosphinx (upgrade)
    • Hieracosphinx (upgrade)
    • Sacred Cats (upgrade)
    • Adze of Wepwawet (upgrade)

  • Anubis focuses on Anubites and Monuments and gives access to the following techs:
    • Plague of Serpents (god power)
    • Anubite (Myth unit)
    • Feet of the Jackal (upgrade)
    • Serpent Spear (upgrade)
    • Necropolis (upgrade)

Heroic Age

To enter the Heroic Age, players who picked Isis must choose Sobek or Nephthys as a Minor God.

  • Sobek focuses on buildings and camel units and gives access to the following techs:
    • Locust Swarm (god power)
    • Roc (Myth unit, passive)
    • Petsuchos (Myth unit)
    • Crocodilopolis (upgrade)
    • Sun-dried Mud-brick (upgrade)
    • Dark Water (upgrade)
    • Solar Barque (upgrade)

  • Nephthys focuses on Pharaohs and Priests and gives access to the following techs:
    • Ancestors (god power)
    • Scorpion Man (Myth unit)
    • Funeral Rites (upgrade)
    • Spirit Maat (upgrade)
    • Nebty (upgrade)
    • Funeral Barge (upgrade)

Mythic Age

To enter the Mythic Age, players who picked Isis must choose Osiris or Thoth as a Minor God.

  • Osiris focuses on camel riders and Pharaohs and gives access to the following techs:
    • Son of Osiris (god power)
    • New Kingdom (upgrade)
    • Mummy (Myth unit)
    • Atef Crown (upgrade)
    • Desert Wind (upgrade)

  • Thoth focuses on laborers and War Elephants and gives access to the following techs:
    • Meteor (god power)
    • Phoenix (Myth unit)
    • Valley of the Kings (upgrade)
    • Book of Thoth (upgrade)
    • Tusks of Apedemak (upgrade)
