Players will be able to find plenty of unassuming yet important items throughout their adventure in AI Limit, and the Arboretum key, an item that drops very early in the game, is one of them.

Despite dropping so early into the game, the Arboretum Key is used much later on, and if you aren't thorough in your exploration, you'll likely miss out on it completely. If you're new to AI Limit and you absolutely don't want to miss anything, here's a guide on where to bring this key.

AI Limit Dev Reveals What to Expect From Its Story

The Best War Games spoke to developer SenseGames about its new action RPG, AI Limit, and what players can expect from its narrative.

How to Use the Arboretum Key in AI Limit

Players can get the Arboretum Key right after they defeat Lore, the first true boss at the game who guards Sewer Town's exit. If you want to use the key, you'll then need to proceed all the way to the Spirit Depths map, which is about seven boss fights. With that said, take your time, and make sure to grab all the best early gear in AI Limit along the way.

The Way to the Arboretum

Once you've reached the Spirit Depths, you'll then need to make your way to the Watch Tower Branch. From here, drop down to the hard-light platform with the patrolling enemy, but watch for the rotating eyes so you don't get zapped by lightning.

Follow the platform all the way to the end, then turn left and follow the ledge until you reach more hard-light platforms below you. Carefully drop down each of them, then press forward. Look for a doorway that leads to some stairs and some Necros on the left side of the level.

The Invisible Bridge

Go up the stairs and either fight or run away from the Necros. You'll eventually see a Cleansing Knight and a Panic Reaper fighting each other. Ignore them (or finish off the winner), then head out through the opening in the wall and onto another ledge. You'll see more hard-light platforms below you.

From there, go to the longest platform, then head back toward the Watch Tower. There's an invisible bridge connecting the platform to the tower, so don't worry about falling. Once you make it back, ride the elevator all the way to the top.

The Elevator Shortcut

Once you reach the top, you'll see a magic butterfly that drops Dew Essence. Kill it, but be mindful of the hammer-wielding Clergy knight nearby. Go to the elevator near the knight, then ride it down. Once you reach the bottom, hop off the elevator, then follow the hall. To your left is a Clergy swordswoman — get rid of it, then open the door. This will lead you back to the Dormant Array Branch.

You can jump off midway through the elevator ride to find a console that shuts down all the mechanical eyes in the area.

To the Arboretum

Rest at the Dormant Array, then go back to the shortcut you just unlocked. Fight the Clergy swordswoman again, then go back to the elevator. Send the elevator back up, but get off once it ascends. You'll see more hard-light platforms below you — follow them down the elevator shaft, and jump off the final platform and onto the doorway.

From there, follow the hall until you reach the end. Turn right, and you should find a small tunnel that leads to the Withered Forest. From this point, it's a straight jog leading up to the Arboretum. Use the key to unlock the door, and you'll be greeted by the Arboretum Branch and some Soil that you can give to Delpha.
