Remedy Entertainment may have just teased a DLC for Alan Wake 2. The studio previously hinted that it had prepared something for an upcoming event.

Released last October, Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the studio's cult classic psychological thriller from 2010. It was previously confirmed that the latest entry would receive at least two paid expansions called Night Springs and Lake House. More information about these DLCs may finally be unveiled to the public soon, as Remedy Entertainment has seemingly hinted at some sort of reveal that will take place in the near future.

Hellblade 2's Environmental Puzzles Prove Alan Wake 2's Are a Tough Act to Follow

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 has some interesting environmental puzzles, but their impressiveness is undermined by Alan Wake 2's own puzzles.

Remedy Entertainment recently made several changes to its Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts, which some fans speculated was a sign that the studio would soon make an announcement regarding Alan Wake 2's Night Springs DLC. On Twitter and YouTube, Remedy Entertainment changed its name to Poison Pill Entertainment, an apparent reversal of the Finnish studio's original label, and it also started using new imagery. A tweet with a pill emoji that tagged the official Alan Wake 2 account had a photo that featured the developer's new logo and the phrase, "Since 1995 Night Springs City." This can refer to the fictional Arizona town that has been featured in the series multiple times, or the in-universe TV show and video games that it inspired.

Should Remedy Entertainment announce more Alan Wake 2 content, it would likely happen very soon. The studio's creative director, Sam Lake, seemed to have teased a Remedy Entertainment reveal at Summer Game Fest 2024, which will take place on June 7. Event organizer and host Geoff Keighley reinforced this theory by highlighting the recent changes that were made to Remedy Entertainment's Twitter account.

Alan Wake 2 DLC Rumored Announcement Date

  • Summer Game Fest 2024 (June 7)

More than 50 companies will appear at this year's Summer Game Fest, including major publishers 2K, Capcom, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, PlayStation, SEGA, Ubisoft, WB Games, and Xbox. Microsoft's gaming division has scheduled an Xbox Games Showcase on June 9 that will be immediately followed by a presentation for the recently announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Remedy Entertainment has already marketed its latest game at past Summer Game Fests. The developer dropped the gameplay reveal trailer for Alan Wake 2 at 2023's event, with Lake even providing an on-stage interview. Before that, the game, which recently bagged three wins at the Nordic Game Awards, was announced at 2021's The Game Awards, another event organized and hosted by Keighley.

A string of ritualistic murders threatens Bright Falls, a small-town community surrounded by Pacific Northwest wilderness. Saga Anderson, an accomplished FBI agent with a reputation for solving impossible cases arrives to investigate the murders. Anderson’s case spirals into a nightmare when she discovers pages of a horror story that starts to come true around her.

Alan Wake, a lost writer trapped in a nightmare beyond our world, writes a dark story in an attempt to shape the reality around him and escape his prison. With a dark horror hunting him, Wake is trying to retain his sanity and beat the devil at his own game.

Anderson and Wake are two heroes on two desperate journeys in two separate realities, connected at heart in ways neither of them can understand: reflecting each other, echoing each other, and affecting the worlds around them.

Fueled by the horror story, supernatural darkness invades Bright Falls, corrupting the locals and threatening the loved ones of both Anderson and Wake. Light is their weapon—and their safe haven — against the darkness they face. Trapped in a sinister horror story where there are only victims and monsters, can they break out to be the heroes they need to be?
