All Plasmium Locations in Silksong (Alchemist’s Assistant…

Alchemist’s Assistant is a side quest in Hollow Knight: Silksong that can be triggered by talking to Alchemist Zylotol in the Wormways. Upon talking to Hornet, Zylotol will reveal that he is looking to collect some Plasmium from the nearby area in the name of scientific research, and will initiate the quest if players show interest.

After giving the quest, the Alchemist does not give the exact locations of where the Plasmium can be found, leaving it for the players to figure out. While Wormways isn’t the largest of areas, its winding tunnels make it very easy to get lost while exploring. This guide covers all three Plasmium locations required to complete Zylotol’s wish, as well as how to collect them.

How to Get Plasmium in Silksong (Alchemist’s Assistant Quest)

To gather Plasmium, you will first need to equip the Needle Phial in your Tools slot by sitting on a bench (there’s one right next to Alchemist Zylotol). Once you have the Needle Phial equipped, you can extract the Plasmium nodes in the Wormways.

There are three Plasmium buds scattered throughout the Wormways that you are required to gather in order to complete the Alchemist's Assistant Wish in Silksong. Here are all their locations:

First Plasmium Location

The first Plasmium Phial is located in an alcove directly underneath Alchemist Zylotol’s location.

Use the exit to the right of the Alchemist to drop down into the level below.
Turn left and use Wall Climb above the spike pit to reach the platform above.
Go left to drop down again, and you’ll see the blue glow of a Plasmium node in the alcove to the right.

Press and hold the Tool activation hotkey to use the Needle Phial to extract the Plasmium.

Second Plasmium Location

The second Plasmium is located further down into the bowels of the Wormways.

From the first Plasmium node, turn left and drop down to the platform below.
Jump left and take the drop leading down to the level below.
Drop down to the platform on the left, then head right to take another hole leading even further down.
Go right to drop down again, then turn left for another drop with a spike pit at the bottom.
Drop down to the right and you’ll find a moss-covered tunnel leading to the second Plasmium node.

Third Plasmium Location

The Third Plasmium node can be found in a hidden section of the Wormways west of the second node’s location.

From the second Plasmium’s location, turn left and use Wall Climb to return the way you came.
To the left of the first falling sandworm is a spike pit, and a wall you can use Wall Climb on to get to the other side. Do so.
Jump across the gap on the left and keep heading left until you see another drop.
Drop down and turn left mid-fall to find an alcove with a breakable stone wall.
Break the wall, and follow the tunnel to the left to find the third Plasmium node.

Alchemist’s Assistant Quest Rewards in Silksong

After collecting all three Plasmium vials, return to Alchemist Zylotol to turn in the quest. As a reward, he will give you a Plasmium Phial, a Tool that allows Hornet to temporarily increase her base health pool by three extra masks, which is extremely useful in boss fights.

The Plasmium Phial comes with 3 active charges, with 20 more in reserve. At most, you can use the Phial to receive 3 temporary masks. When you rest at a bench, Hornet will automatically refill the active charges using the ones in reserve, consuming Shell Shards in the process. Alchemist Zylotol will refill your Plasmium Phial’s reserve charges for a flat fee of 50 Rosaries, regardless of how many are missing.
