Alien: Rogue Incursion will no longer be exclusive to VR headsets, as an upgraded version is coming to Steam and PlayStation 5 later this year. When the original Alien: Rogue Incursion was released for PC and PS5 back in December 2024, it required the use of a VR headset like the PlayStation VR2 to truly bring players face-to-face with the dreaded Xenomorph like never before. Alien: Rogue Incursion would eventually be ported to the Meta Quest 3 on February 13.
Taking place between the original Alien movie and the 1986 sequel Aliens, Alien: Rogue Incursion - Part One puts players in the role of Zula Hendricks, a recurring protagonist of several Alien novels and comics. After receiving a distress call, she embarks on a dangerous mission to the Gemini Exoplanet Solutions Castor’s Cradle facility on the planet Purdan to investigate the grisly aftermath of a Xenomorph experiment gone wrong. Together with her android partner Davis 01, Zula must try to piece together what happened while avoiding a grim end at the hands of the swarming Xenomorphs and Facehuggers overrunning the facility.

Soon, gamers who don’t own a VR headset will be able to experience Alien: Rogue Incursion for themselves. IGN reports that Alien: Rogue Incursion - Part One: Evolved Edition will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on September 30, 2025. Unlike the original version of the game, the Evolved Edition doesn’t require a VR headset to play, and it will feature improved graphics and “even deadlier Xenomorphs.” The Standard Edition Alien: Rogue Incursion - Part One: Evolved Edition will cost $29.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition will be available for $39.99. More information about the game will be unveiled at IGN Live next month.

The original Alien: Rogue Incursion was met with generally positive reviews at launch, with some fans even praising it as one of the best Alien video games ever made. However, some argue that while Rogue Incursion does a great job of replicating the look and feel of the movies, the constant barrage of Xenomorphs could be repetitive in comparison to the single, intelligent space monster players faced in Alien: Isolation.
Developer Survios says that Alien: Rogue Incursion is a two-part story, and that the second half has been in development since December 2024. In the meantime, fans of the legendary Alien film franchise have been enjoying plenty of new content recently thanks to last year's Alien: Romulus and the upcoming Alien: Earth television series.

Alien: Rogue Incursion is a brand-new single-player action-horror VR game that immerses players in the world of Alien. The game stars Zula Hendricks, an unbreakable ex-Colonial Marine, on a dangerous mission that brings her to the uncharted planet Purdan, and the secrets hiding beneath its surface.
