Blue Creek Apartments (Otherworld) |
None. Just Dodge and Survive. |
1/5 |
In Silent Hill 2 Remake, players encounter Pyramid Head several times as it stalks James throughout the game and jump-scares him. However, the first major encounter with the Pyramid head takes place towards the end of the Otherworld version of the Blue Creek Apartments.
This isn't exactly a boss fight, but is more like a survival test for James. Players have to run around the room and dodge Pyramid Head's slashes to stall him. The first phase is pretty easy as its speed is pretty slow, making it easier for players to run away. However, it gets considerably faster in the second phase. Players also gradually run out of cages to put distance between them and the monster.
After some time has passed, the iconic Silent Hill sirens will sound in the distance, which stops Pyramid head in its tracks as it starts retreating towards the big double doors. This will mark the end of the encounter, but it's not the last time players face off against this monstrosity.
Flesh Lip

Brookhaven Hospital |
Handgun + Melee |
2/5 |
Players will encounter this grotesque monster towards the end of Brookhaven Hospital. It drops from the ceiling after Laura tricks James and locks him in a room. It's a creature with fleshy lips between its legs, and its body trapped in a rusty cage.
There's only one strategy to take down Flesh Lip: shoot its hand, by which hangs the creature from the ceiling as it comes crashing down. On the ground, try to get a few melee hits in before it jumps back onto the ceiling and re-emerges in another position. Players can watch the dust on the ceiling to track the creature's movement.
The Flesh Lip will mainly attack James with the rusty bar from its cage. In the second phase, it takes the form of a spider rushing towards James. Taking down Flesh Lip becomes fairly easy once you time those dodges right.
Abstract Daddy

Best Weapon To Use |
Difficulty |

|
The Labyrinth (Beginning of the Area) |
Shotgun |
4/5 |
Abstract Daddy features one of the most disturbing monster designs in the game, which players face off during the beginning of the Labyrinth. It's another multiphase boss fight. Olayers will have to damage this monster by blasting a shotgun at it, before it disappears again.
The phase where it disappears and James runs through the long stretch of hallways trying to find it is a clear nod to Silent Hills P.T. Players will have to escape its attacks, which come in the form of charging at James with its open appendages and swiping them at random intervals.
Eddie Dombrowski
|
Location |
Best Weapon To Use |
Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
|
The Labyrinth (Ruined Area) |
Shotgun + Melee |
5/5 |
Eddie's psyche eventually snaps, and despite James being nice to him, he decides to end James' life. Players will face Eddie Dombrowski in the meat locker section of the Labyrinth's Ruined Area. In the first phase, players will chase down Eddie in the dark and dingy meat locker and try to shoot some sense into him, literally.
Tracking Eddie in the second phase of the fight becomes tougher as he shoots the overhead pipes which fills the room up with fog. It gets hard to track down Eddie in these conditions, so players will have to rely on sound to determine Eddie's location. When he tries to pistol whip James, James can dodge at the right moment, which will be a nice opportunity to land some melee hits.
Mandarin
|
Location |
Best Weapon To Use |
Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
|
Lakeview Hotel |
Shotgun + Melee |
2/5 |
Players will encounter Mandarin towards the end of the Labyrinth area, but there's a mini-boss fight with a Mandarin on the third floor of the Lakeview Hotel. It will burst through the wall, jump-scaring players and starting the boss encounter.
The Mandarin will hang from the ceiling swiping its tongue at James, which surprisingly has a pretty long range. Other attacks include lunging at James and shrieking, which stuns James. However, players can take it down with the Shotgun and well-timed melee attacks pretty easily, as the Mandarin's movements aren't that quick.
Dual Pyramid Heads

Difficulty |

|
Lakeview Hotel (Otherworld) |
Hunting Rifle |
3/5 |
The final boss encounter with Pyramid Head, or should we say Heads, happens towards the end of the Otherworld version of the Lakeview Hotel. Players will find themselves trapped in a large hall with two Pyramid Heads ganging on James. Although their movement and attack speed are slow, they can randomly become quicker to catch up to James.
The only best way to survive this boss fight is to avoid getting cornered by these two executioners. Maintain distance, rack up body shots, and then run to another corner to repeat the process. The Hunting Rifle is quite effective as it lets players do high damage while maintaining their distance from the dual bosses.
Mary
|

Best Weapon To Use |
Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
|
Lakeview Hotel (Otherworld) |
Hunting Rifle + Handgun |
5/5 |
The climax of the game features Mary's disfigured monster form at the end of the Otherworld version of Lakeview Hotel. Mary is strapped to her rusted bed bars as she flies around the room while swiping at James with a long appendage from the back of her head.
This boss fight has similar mechanics to the Flesh Lip, as the second phase turns Mary's bed into a spider-like contraption that lets her attack James with rusted iron bars. The second phase also throws James into a dark prison-like area where she frequently drops from the ceiling to attack. The shotgun will be highly effective after she appears from the ceiling. Mary will also summon her months that will hone in on James, so dodging will be your best friend.
The Final Phase will also be similar to Flesh Lip. Mary will drop to the ground, following James in her rusty spidery armor. This phase is also straightforward, as players will need to maintain their distance and empty their Hunting Rifle ammo into her.
