There are a total of 28 items in Mario Kart World, each of which offers players a unique power-up to speed ahead of other players, take out their competition, or give themselves a leg up in the race in other ways. There are several new items in Mario Kart World, including the Ice Flower and Coin Shell items, but there are plenty of returning fan favorite Mario Kart items too, like the classic Banana and Super Star items – and the deadly Spiny (Blue) Shell.
