Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has a lot of things to worry about when just trying to survive and make it to the next shrine. On top of dealing a lot of damage, many enemies or even the environment can deal status effects onto Wuchang, which can kill you just as quickly as any boss.
Some status ailments can be much worse to deal with than others, but all of them have a cure to help you cure them. Here's what every status ailment does if it builds up, along with how to cure them and get yourself back on your feet quickly.

How to Cure Every Status Ailment in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
Every status effect needs to fully fill the icon in the center of the screen before taking effect. All of the items listed below can both cure a status effect that has taken effect, or get rid of the buildup and stop it from happening in the first place. Not adding to any status effect will have the icon drain naturally over time, avoiding the status effect, with each status effect also recovering naturally as long as you're able to survive long enough.
|
Status Effect |

|---|---|
|
Poise Break |
Topaz Lotus Seeds, Cornucopia Elixir |

|
Corruption |
Purple Camellias, Cornucopia Elixir |
|
Despair |
Mind Lotus Seeds, Cornucopia Elixir |
|
Burn |
Fire Lotus Seeds, Cornucopia Elixir |
|

Resting at a shrine also heals any status effect.
You can only have four items equipped on your hotbar at a time, but you can also go into your inventory whenever to use any item you are carrying. Since opening the menu doesn't pause the game, you'll want to equip at least one of these items in your hotbar once you know the general effect of the area you're in. While there are a few exceptions, most areas will have enemies or environmental effects that all cause the same status ailment. Most of the items listed above can be purchased at merchants, so you'll want to stock up on a few to always have the option of using one if needed.
Elemental Resistances
Every piece of armor also has elemental resistances, making it harder for various status ailments to go into effect. There are also many items that can be consumed to temporarily reduce how much build-up a status ailment can get on Wuchang, though these items don't affect any build-up already done.
