Assassin's Creed Shadows is a bit of a mixed bag, although one area in which it definitely doesn't disappoint is its excellent storytelling. Throughout fourteen fantastic chapters, the game tells a compelling tale of revenge while thoroughly exploring both the past and motivations of its two co-protagonists Naoe and Yasuke.

From the original to now, every Assassin's Creed game has its highs and lows, but some titles are way better than others.
Each chapter varies in length and most of them are made up of multiple missions, although some have only one. There are around 80 main story missions in total, with optional side quests taking the total number of missions up above the 100 mark. Completing every chapter in Assassin's Creed Shadows will take players around 35 hours.

There are fourteen chapters in Assassin's Creed Shadows, the last of which provides players with an opportunity to wrap up any side content they opted not to finish during their main story playthrough. Some Assassin's Creed Shadows chapters are significantly shorter than others, with the four that make up the prologue only accounting for around one hour of combined playtime. By comparison, the game's longest chapter, Fall of the Shinbakufu, will take most players around eight hours to complete.
