Like many other survival crafting games, V Rising is not without tedium. While many options can be tweaked and refined to perfectly suit the tastes of individual players, some solutions require a more heavy-handed approach.
Console commands are available to all PC players, though they are not immediately usable. If you want to experiment with some V Rising builds, make extravagant castles, or change some world settings on the fly while in a private setting, then here's a list of must-know console commands for both solo players and server hosts alike.
V Rising: How To Enable Console And Cheats
First, you need to make sure that the console is actually enabled. Go to the main menu, then click on Options. Under the General tab, look for the "Console Enabled" option, then click on it to toggle it on. The next time you load into any server, you'll be able to open the developer console by pressing the Tilde (`) key.
However, you won't be able to use any cheats or admin commands just by turning the console on. You must first type the command "AdminAuth" to give yourself administrator privileges. This will only work if you are hosting a private server in V Rising.
V Rising: Useful Console Commands
Once you've set yourself up as an admin of a private server, you can start using the console to perform some admin-only actions. Here are some of the most useful commands you can use for regular play in both solo and multiplayer settings:
- Give [item name] [number] - spawns an item in your inventory. Item IDs will appear when you type an item's name into the console, letting you choose from a list that will appear.
- Giveset [setname] - spawns an entire item set in your inventory. Works the same as the Give command.
- Addtime [1-12] - Moves the clock forward by the specified number of hours.
- Kill - kills your character
- Changehealthofclosesttomouse [positive or negative number] - changes the current health of whatever unit is close to your cursor. Positive numbers add health, while negative ones reduce it.
- GatherAllAllies - teleports all allies to your cursor.
- GatherAllAlliesExceptMe - teleports all allies but you to your cursor.
- GatherAllNonAllies - teleports all non-allied players to your cursor.
- GatherAllPlayers - teleports everyone in the server to your mouse cursor.
- GatherAllPlayersExceptMe - teleports everyone but you to your mouse cursor.
- PlayerTeleport - teleport yourself to your cursor's position.
- TeleportPlayerToMe [player name]- teleports designated player to your position.
- SetAdminLevel [name] [level] - changes the authority of a designated player.
- Kick [name] - kicks a player.
- Hidehud - hides all HUD elements, including menus.
- Showhud - restores visibility of all HUD elements.
Using console commands is a great way to explore everything V Rising 1.0 has to offer, especially if you're a veteran who just wants to see what's new. As always, be considerate when using cheats, even if it's just in a private server with friends.
