Battlefield 6 Day 1 Update Patch Notes Revealed
EA reveals the lengthy patch notes for the Battlefield 6 day one launch update, highlighting hundreds of changes and improvements.
All Battlefield 6 Weapons by Type
As mentioned above, there are eight different weapon types in Battlefield 6. These are:
- Assault Rifle
- Carbine
- SMG
- LMG
- DMR
- Sniper Rifle
- Shotgun
- Pistols/ Secondary Weapons
Assault Rifle
Assault rifles are generally good all-round weapons for a variety of scenarios. They can be effective at close, mid, and long range, though they are typically the most effective when used at close-mid range.
There are eight assault rifles in Battlefield 6 at launch:
- M433
- B36A4
- SOR-556 MK2
- AK4D
- TR-7
- KORD 6P67
- NVO-228E
- L85A3
We listed the M433 as one of the best weapons in Battlefield 6.
Carbine
The carbines can be considered the middle ground between a traditional assault rifle and an SMG. They combine the high fire rate and mobility of an SMG with the range and accuracy of an assault rifle, making them incredibly effective at short to mid-range. There are seven carbines in Battlefield 6, with the M4A1 being the most well-known.
- M4A1
- M277
- AK-205
- M417A2
- GRT-BC
- QBZ-192
- SG 553R
SMG
Sub Machine Guns (SMGs) combine high mobility and fast fire rates to rip through enemies in close-quarters combat. This close-range effectiveness comes at the cost of range and accuracy, meaning they're not suited for those who like to sit further back from the action. There are eight SMGs in Battlefield 6.
- SGX
- PW5A3
- PW7A2
- UMG-40
- USG-90
- KV9
- SCW-10
- SL9
Weapons similar to these (and in other classes) may go by slightly different names in other FPS titles, such as Call of Duty. For example, the USG-90 is often called the P90.
LMG
Light Machine Guns are larger handheld weapons that deliver high damage at range, but at the cost of mobility and reload times. They're the perfect weapon for those looking to provide suppressive fire for their teammates, typically from those who will camp out a specific spot and don't want to move around a lot. A great option if you're defending an objective.
There are eight LMGs in Battlefield 6. These are:
- L110
- DRS-IAR
- M60
- RPKM
- M123K
- M250
- KTS100 MK8
- M240L
DMR
Designated marksman rifles (DMRs) are a middle ground between a sniper and an assault rifle. They offer improved range and damage over an assault rifle, but aren't quite as capable at long range as a sniper. They also have reduced mobility over assault rifles, making them better for those who want to head to a spot, set up camp, and pick off nearby enemies.
There are four DMRs in Battlefield 6 at launch:
- M39 EMR
- LMR27
- SVK-8.6
- SVDM
Sniper Rifle
There's not much to say about sniper rifles that you don't know already. The go-to for long-range aficionados, the snipers pack serious range and power into a slightly bulky package. There are three snipers in Battlefield 6:
- M2010 ESR
- SV-98
- PSR
Shotgun
If you prefer a close-range weapon that delivers one serious punch rather than peppering an enemy with tens of bullets, then the shotgun is for you. Just keep in mind that they have minimal range and can take a while to reload, so you'll need to get up close to your target and make every shot count. There are three shotguns:
- M87A1
- M1014
- 18.5KS-K
Pistols
For those moments when you're out of ammo for your primary weapon or need to quickly finish them off, the pistol is a handy counterpart. While it's unlikely you're going to use one as your main weapon, they're always good to have as a backup for those clutch moments. There are four pistols in Battlefield 6:
- P18
- ES 5.7
- M45A1
- M44
It's worth noting that these 45 weapons are just what's available at launch in Battlefield 6. More weapons are due to come post-launch.
