Summary

  • AMD Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs launch on Nov 7, targeting the gaming market.
  • Discounts are available on current Ryzen 9000 models amid Intel competition.
  • AMD aims to boost its gaming outreach in 2024 and 2025.

AMD has pulled back the curtain on the Ryzen 9000X3D processors and stated that the new units will be out on November 7. While no further details were offered by AMD, the latest additions to the Ryzen X3D lineup will build upon their reputation as the best gaming-focused CPUs on the market.

The news of the Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs came just weeks after AMD launched the base Ryzen 9000 series. Although the launch of the Ryzen 9000 CPUs was delayed due to printing errors discovered in manufacturing, that did not stop AMD from releasing its Zen 5 generation of processors ahead of Intel's Arrow Lake CPUs. Boasting clock speeds up to 5.7 GHz and compatibility with 600 and 800 series motherboards from partners like ASUS and MSI, the AMD Ryzen 9000 series looks to continue the company's upward trend in the processor market. With the pending launch of the Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs, AMD looks to expand its market share.

Following weeks of launch window rumors for the AMD CPUs, the company confirmed that the speculation was correct. In a short video posted on its social media channels, AMD stated the Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs would launch on Thursday, November 7. However, no information about pricing, or how many Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs would be part of the lineup, was given at the time of writing. Like its predecessors, the Ryzen 9000X3D will continue to use AMD's patented 3D V-Cache technology to increase the L3 cache in each processor and improve gaming performance in various titles. However, this comes at the cost of lower base clock speeds compared to base Ryzen 9000 CPUs like the Ryzen 7 9700X, as well as with the inability to overclock them.

When Will AMD Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs Be Available?

  • Thursday, November 7

Along with the launch of the upcoming Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs, AMD discounted some of its current lineup of Ryzen 9000 processors in response to the launch of Intel's Arrow Lake. These discounts range from $30 to $50, with the price of the Ryzen 5 9600X sitting at $249 on Amazon following the price cut. By comparison, the Intel Core Ultra 5 245KF will launch at $294, making the Ryzen 5 9600X cheaper on average by $45.

Between the launch of the Ryzen 9000X3D processors and its continued work on technologies such as FSR4, AMD looks to improve its gaming outreach in both 2024 and 2025. It remains to be seen how the Ryzen 9000X3D lineup will fare compared to its counterparts.
