Summary

  • Peters should play a kind character in AHS season 13 for a fresh twist.
  • Fans want to see him tackle a different role than his usual dark characters.
  • Playing a good guy would differentiate Peters' role in the series and add depth.

While Evan Peters is starring on the upcoming Ryan Murphy series The Beauty, he is best known for his work on American Horror Story. In October 2024, Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter, "I was talking to Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters about" American Horror Story season 13. It would be great to see Peters come back, especially since his eerie and dangerous characters have made such a big impression on fans.

Besides starring in most seasons of AHS, Peters has appeared in some of the most popular shows of the past few years, including the compelling Agatha All Along, the creative WandaVision, and the bleak but gripping Mare of Easttown. However, if Peters returns for American Horror Story season 13, there is one kind of character that he should portray.

Evan Peters Should Play A Good And Likable Character In American Horror Story Season 13

Since Evan Peters has played several terrifying American Horror Story villains, Peters should play a good character in American Horror Story season 13. This would ensure that his appearance doesn't feel dull or stale, and it would also make the next season stand out.

While Peters hasn't only played villains, he is best known for playing ghost Tate Langdon on Murder House and cult leader Kai Anderson on Apocalypse. His other evil personalities include engineer Jeff Pfister. His Roanoke character Rory Monahan is probably the closest he has come to portraying a nice person on the Ryan Murphy anthology series. However, Rory is full of himself, and he isn't the most well-developed of Peters's characters. Although it's fun to see Peters as a manipulative and dark character who will stop at nothing to achieve what they want, he has the talent to bring complexity and nuance to a regular person, too.

Although fans don't know what the American Horror Story 13 plot will be, maybe Peters could play a smart, kind character who is investigating the main mystery. He could also play a friend or love interest of the protagonist, or if it's a paranormal story, play a friendly spirit. It would also be fun to see Sarah Paulson come back alongside Peters since they have appeared together in several seasons of the show. Maybe this time, Paulson could play a villain and Peters could play the good guy. He could even portray a character who appears to be evil and then is later revealed to be hiding his real self. Maybe he's playing a long, manipulative game and there's a reason why he wanted the other characters to think that he's a terrible person. This would make for an exciting twist.

What Has Evan Peters Said About Starring In American Horror Story?

Tate (Evan Peters) in American Horror Story Murder House

While Evan Peters has played countless American Horror Story villains, he has shared his thoughts on starring on the Ryan Murphy series, and he has said it's been tough to portray such evil people. In an interview with GQ in 2018, he said:

"I don't like to yell and scream. I actually hate it. I think it's disgusting and really awful, and it's been a challenge for me. Horror Story sort of demanded that of me."

Peters added:

"It's just exhausting. It's really mentally draining, and you don't want to go to those places ever in your life. And so you have to go there for the scenes, and it ends up integrating it somehow into your life."

Based on these comments, perhaps Peters would be open to playing a lighter, more uplifting and likable character on American Horror Story season 13. It would definitely be great to see the original cast member play a different kind of role.
