The structure of American Horror Story season 6 is creative and interesting, which sets it apart from the other seasons of the franchise. Part 1 is about the documentary series My Roanoke Nightmare and part 2 is like the best found footage horror movies and shares what happened when people tried to make a follow-up to that documentary. Fans have differing opinions on whether splitting up the season like this was a good idea, but it does help American Horror Story: Roanoke stand on its own. Since the franchise is on its 12th season now, it's impossible for everyone to love it all the time, and season 6 should be praised for doing something unique.

In the first episode called "Chapter 1," married couple Matt (Cuba Gooding Jr.) And Shelby Miller (Sarah Paulson) are starring in the documentary and they talk about a horrifying experience that they have just been through. They talk about living in a farmhouse and feeling that they were attacked by neighbors because farmers were displaced as a result. The couple also has some trauma as a gang hurt them and Shelby lost their baby.

But when the documentary series begins filming again, scary things keep happening.

Thomasin White, also called The Butcher, is one of the scariest American Horror Story villains and plays a big role in season 6. Played by Kathy Bates, Agnes Mary Winstead, and Susan Berger, The Butcher is a terrifying sight to behold. She and the Polks decide that as long as the Polks give The Butcher people to kill during the Blood Moon, the villain won't hurt the Polks.
