Even though players will live in a tropical paradise in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, they will still need to find a way to make money. They have to pay Tom Nook back for building them a home, and they will also need extra Bells for clothes, furniture, and much more.
ACNH Art Guide - How to Tell if Redd's Paintings Are Real or Fake
A familiar face returns with paintings and statues for sale, but which of Redd's artwork is real and which is fake? Find out with our ACNH art guide.
There are thousands of items that players can sell at Nook's Cranny in exchange for Bells, but not all of them will be worth the effort. This article tells players the best items to sell to get rich in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Hot Items
Timmy and Tommy will update the sign outside of Nook's Cranny every single day. This will always feature the daily hot item, which is a craftable item that they will purchase for double its original sell value. Sometimes, it's a cheap item that might not even be worth players' time, but when it's more valuable items that require more expensive or rare crafting materials, they can make a significant amount of cash by spamming-selling them.
This is a great way for players to get rid of resources that they don't normally use and are filling up their home storage, and an easy way to make money. With the addition of multicrafting in Animal Crossing 3.0, this will be a breeze, as gamers won't have to spam the Keep Crafting button after making one craftable object.
Fossils
When players complete the fossil collection at the museum, fossils will continue to spawn on their island. They might not think it's worth digging them up and assessing them after they've found all the fossils, but that is not true at all. Some fossils are worth thousands of Bells, and players can sell them at Nook's Cranny for profit after letting Blathers take a look at them.
This can be done even if players haven't completed the museum; oftentimes, they will find repeat fossils, or they might not want to give the first fossil to Blathers. However, after completing the museum, it's easy to forget about this activity, as it may not be part of the player's daily routine anymore.
If they want to make money fast, they should definitely continue looking for fossils on their island. The cheapest fossils in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are worth 1,000 Bells, and the most expensive ones are worth 6,000 Bells. Therefore, players will be able to make anywhere between 3,000 to 18,000 Bells daily simply by assessing their fossils. Alternatively, they can store them and then mass-assess a bunch of fossils to save them some time, but this way, it'll take longer for them to see some cash.
DIY Shell and Mermaid Items
Shells will continuously spawn on the player's beaches throughout the day. Some of the shells can actually be sold for a decent amount of cash. However, players can maximize their profit further by using a workbench and turning them into furniture or decorative items from the Shell series. The price range of these items is between 600 to 12,360 Bells.
18 Best Furniture Series In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Ranked
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there are thousands of items to decorate every inch of your island. Here are the best furniture series, ranked.
Additionally, if players have some Pearls from diving in the sea, they can also use their shells to create items from the Mermaid series, which features items that are worth over 20,000 Bells.
Non-Native Fruit
When players start a new island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, they should prioritize planting lots of fruit trees that aren't native to their island. While native fruit only sells for 100 Bells, non-native fruit will sell for 500 Bells a piece. Players can obtain non-native fruit by visiting Nook Islands or a friend who has a different native fruit. Then, they have to bury one piece of fruit and wait four days for three fruits to grow from it.
From a single piece of fruit, players can obtain three new fruits that can be sold for a total of 1,500 Bells. Players can stack up to 9 fruits per inventory slot. Considering that they can have up to 40 inventory slots that can be filled with fruit, they can sell 360 foreign fruits at a time, which adds up to 180,000 Bells. These fruits are almost free of charge, so this is money that only goes in the player's pocket. The bigger their orchid, the more runs they can do to Nook's Cranny, only increasing their profits further.
Additionally, whenever the player visits a friend who has a different native fruit, they should make sure that they bring as many of their native fruit as possible, as it will sell for 500 Bells at their Nook's Cranny, seeing as it's considered a foreign fruit there.
Sea Creatures
Many players save up their bugs and fish until Flick and CJ visit their island, as they give a much better price for these creatures. However, there is no special NPC that guarantees a better price for sea creatures in New Horizons. That's why it's worth putting on a diving suit and dropping to the bottom of the ocean, looking for sea creatures at any time of the day.
Players can farm as many of these catches as they want and immediately sell their inventory to Timmy and Tommy without losing any money. To make as much profit as possible for the trip, players should leave all of their tools at home and completely free up their inventory.
They can even continue to do this all night long, as there are various creatures in the sea at all times. And, even though they will make less of a profit, they can put their catch in the Nook's Cranny drop-off box and receive their money in the morning when they wake up.
Gold or Blue Rose Wreath
Blue Roses and Gold Roses are the most valuable flowers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons; they sell for 1,000 Bells a piece. Once players get a 5-star island in ACNH, they will receive the recipe for the Gold Watering Can. If they use it to water Black Roses, they may sprout a Gold Rose beside them. Players can easily get Black Roses by placing two roses near each other and watering them.
Alternatively, players can get Blue Roses by breeding two Hybrid Red Roses together. This process might take longer since there are quite a few steps, but it can be done before players get the Gold Watering Can. To get Hybrid Red Roses, gamers must breed a White and Orange Rose. The White Rose is a standard color, but the Orange requires them to breed a Yellow and a standard Red Rose.
Players could easily sell a stack of 10 Blue or Gold Roses for 10,000 Bells. However, they can double their profits if they have the Gold or Blue Rose Wreath recipes.
A wreath made of 10 Gold Roses or 10 Blue Roses sells for a total of 20,000 Bells, and it is essentially just profit, as players can simply rewater their flowers and get them to bloom again a few days late.
