It was eight long years between the last Animal Crossing and the newest title to release, but Animal Crossing: New Horizons has proven it was worth the wait. Longtime fans and newcomers to the series absolutely adore it. Some players are even showing their love outside of the game. Such is the case with one Tik Tok user who put their painting skills to work creating custom Animal Crossing shoes.

Instead of seeing ordinary Vans as shoes, Tik Tok user @buffi saw them as a canvas, whipping out some paints and transforming them into something extraordinary. The end result features Celeste, an owl who visits the islands of players from time to time. Celeste can be found during meteor showers, where she provides DIY recipes. Click here to see the entire process on Tik Tok, where @buffi provides funny commentary. It's definitely worth a viewing, especially because Bubblegum K.K. Is blasting in the background, which is a nice touch. It has long ranked up there as one of the best K.K. Slider Songs in the series.

The ongoing pandemic has placed the world in a precarious and unfamiliar position, leaving people to find ways to deal with the boredom and seclusion of quarantine. The release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has helped a lot of people deal with these woes, pushing sales and making it the fastest-selling Switch game to date. Each morning, players have something new to do, and the ritual of logging in and completing certain tasks has become a part of everyday life for many. Since the game has seasonal events and regular updates, there will be a lot for players to engage in through the coming months.

Aside from events and daily tasks, the game allows for an exceptional amount of creativity, perhaps more than any previous entry in the series. This is due to a new feature that allows players to decorate and even terraform the islands they inhabit. No longer are they restricted to customizing within their homes. Because of this freedom, players have created gorgeous islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and shared them online to spark the imaginations of others.

Players do have some limits, however. In order to decorate, they need to buy or craft the right items, and they aren't all available at the start of the game. Even with the use of time travel, players will still need the dough to afford what they want and some of what can be purchased is downright pricey. The most expensive furniture and houseware items are just out of reach for some players, but with enough time invested, and a little skill in the Stalk Market, they can be rolling in bells.
