The next event coming up for players in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the real-life holiday, International Museum Day. This event will have players fully explore their AC: NH museums and the many generous donations made to it.
In real life, International Museum Day is meant to raise awareness of museums all around the world and their exhibits due to their contributions toward societal development. However, due to the current state of the world, many museums are currently closed. Combating this, many museums have been recreating exhibits for public view and download in AC: NH.
International Museum Day will be falling on Monday, May 18th this year. While it only lasts one day in real life, players in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will have the chance to complete the tasks related to the day for two weeks, similar to the May Day event's extended timescale.
While in-game, the International Museum Day Event will run from May 18th to May 31st. Talking to Blathers during this time will show players that the museum is running a Stamp Rally for the holiday, and completing this stamp rally will net players multiple possible rewards. In order to take part in this event, players must have Animal Crossing: New Horizons updated to version 1.2.0 b. To update the game, players must have an internet connection with their Nintendo Switch either through WiFi or Ethernet connection.
When taking part in the stamp rally, players will go through the museum and visiting the three stamp stations available in the museum's exhibits. They can be in any room and will be random every time it is completed. Looking at players' stamp cards will give hints to where the stamp stations are, making the event a little museum-wide scavenger hunt. There are three prizes offered by the International Museum Awareness Event:
- Bug Plaque
- Fossil Plaque
- Fish Plaque
These plaques are the exact same plaques that can be seen by the entrance ways to each of the exhibits, so these are great for players who are creating their own museums or exhibits in their homes. The International Museum Day Event can be easily completed within one day. Animal Crossing: New Horizons' art exhibit is not required to have, only the museum proper is needed. Players also don't have to worry about their donations in order to complete the event either. However, having more donations makes for a far more aesthetically pleasing stroll through the museum.
While some may find the event to be a bit underwhelming compared to other events, there are plenty of other ways to spend the holiday in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as mentioned before. The J. Paul Getty Museum is one of the museums that's hopped on the AC: NH craze and has recreated many famous works of art that any player can download.
With the months and seasons going by as well as the new arrival of Crazy Redd, there are plenty of things for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players to donate to their own museums to support their island's cultural development. While this event may be an easy one to complete, the scavenger hunt should be fun to complete.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
