- An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player spent over 2,000 hours recreating their New Leaf town.
- Fans can visit the impressive D'Nalsi Island via Dream Address.
- Many are hoping to get a new Animal Crossing entry on the Switch 2 sooner rather than later.
An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has recreated the town in their New Leaf save file in the most recent franchise entry, paying attention to every detail imaginable. When Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released, it took the world by storm, helping many to find some comfort at the start of the pandemic. While some gamers prefer older entries because of the edgier villagers and more diversified dialogue for each personality type, there is no doubt that New Horizons allowed players to create and customize their islands like never before.
New Horizons came out in 2020 for the Nintendo Switch, and before then, the last entry in the main Animal Crossing series had been New Leaf for the 3DS back in 2012. New Leaf fans had a lengthy eight-year interval between these two main games, so it doesn't come as a surprise that many became extremely attached to the 3DS entry, the town, and its characters. So, while the island paradise was an amazing breath of fresh air, some players couldn't help but miss the good old times in their New Leaf towns.
Animal Crossing: 20 Amazing Terraforming Makeovers
If you need some advice on how to best terraform your Animal Crossing: New Horizons island, you've come to the right place.
Reddit user justplainrii made it their personal project to recreate their New Leaf town in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, wowing other fans with the incredible results. This player created eight user profiles on their Switch in order to perfectly replicate the various buildings in New Leaf. After 2,000 hours collecting resources, terraforming, and placing thousands of items, the island of D'Nalsi in New Horizons greatly resembles its town counterpart in New Leaf.
Dream Address to Visit the New Leaf Recreation Island
- D'Nalsi Island Dream Address: DA-3073-6416-1620
Fans who are curious to see the end result can visit it via Dream Address, and while they're there, they can reimagine themselves in New Leaf and check out all the replicas of the iconic town buildings, such as Shampoodle, the Photo Booth, and Kicks. Justplainrii has even added in bootleg versions of the characters in New Leaf. Tortimer is a golden turtle statue, and he can be found with Isabelle, a shirt with a plush dog behind it, in the fake Town Hall. The funniest of all is the recreation of Pelly in the Post Office, who has been recreated as a pink dress with a rubber ducky behind it.
Players were impressed with the details that went into this five-star Animal Crossing island, with the creator even going as far as adding the same time stamps for each in-game screenshot. Even five years post-launch, New Horizon s players continue to surprise the rest of the community with their awesome concepts. It will undoubtedly continue in this way until the next entry in the main series, which many are hoping to see appear on the Switch 2.
