Beginner Tips & Tricks For Anno 117 Pax Romana
Here are some beginner tips for new Anno 11: Pax Romana players.
How Long To Beat Anno 117 Pax Romana Campaign
You can beat the Anno 117: Pax Romana campaign between 8 and 12 hours, with most people completing it in around 10 hours. Choosing the diplomatic route can dramatically reduce the amount of time required to complete the campaign, while the military solution takes longer as you need to build an army to handle the enemy.
Latium Storyline - Anno 117 Pax Romana Campaign Walkthrough
When players first arrive in Latium, the first thing they need to do is build a Woodcutter and a Sawmill.
Woodcutter needs forest trees to function, and a Sawmill needs to be close to a warehouse or trading post (harbor) to store the timber it produces.
After building houses and reaching 100% Food, Public Service, and Fashion Needs, you'll soon get an Imperial Invitation. Here, you need to decide whether you should take sardines or just yourself.
Wait until the imperial ship arrives at your dock, then press on it to accept the Imperial Invitation. This method of proceeding with a quest will remain the same throughout the game.
If you play as Marcia, you can peek several times at the sick wing, but it won't do anything. You're just doing it for the story.
Continue following the tasks until you get Lucius's Strange Demands. Soon, Julia's Birthday quest will start.
The first mission in Julia's Birthday quest is to sail to Lilybaion and pick up the drapes. Select your flagship, then sail to Lilybaion.
Once there, interact with the harbor to pick up the drapes, then sail back to Julia.
Afterward, players must bring 5 Garnum to Julia. To do this, press on your flagship when it's next to your trading post. Next, press the trade icon underneath the ship's icon (on the right side of the screen).
Transport the Garnum to the ship, then sail back to Julia. Once done, Lucius will ask the governor to bring Tiles. Prepare and deliver the materials he needs.
Amidst all this, players may get a visit from the Julius Lupus brothers. Choose between Brutus and Gaius to recruit as a specialist for Juliana.
After delivering the Tiles, Julia will ask the players to find Diana and bring her to Julia's birthday party. Once you meet Diana, you must decide if Diana should attend the party or not.
Witness the event that takes place at Julia's party, and once she calms down, she will ask the players to take Lucius' corpse to your island. Sail to the dock by the Amphitheater, and follow the next quest instructions.
Once Calidus takes Lucius's place as the emperor, you must hand him your flagship on his island.
After confiscating your flagship, Calidus will exile you to Albion. However, since he takes your boat, you must build your own ship in Anno 117: Pax Romana to go there.
You must build a Penteconter to proceed with the quest, but you can sail to Albion on a Trireme if you wish. The Trireme is a tier 2 boat, meaning it has more capacity than a Penteconter. However, research is required to get a Trireme, which may prolong your time in Latium.
Nevertheless, there's no timer to go to Albion, so even though Calidus will continuously rush and pressure the players, there are no consequences for staying in Latium for a while longer. This allows governors to accumulate sufficient funds to survive in Albion or benefit from research conducted in Latium.
When building a ship, it's best to build a civilian ship with maximum cargo slots. This way, you can bring construction materials to Albion.
Best Tips For Your City Layout In Anno 117 Pax Romana
Here are some tips to help players manage their building layout in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
After you build a ship, you must return to Calidus to take an Elephant. This Elephant is only for the story, but it will still take one of your ship's capacities.
Return to your port and take some materials to leave for Albion. If you want, you can also say goodbye to Julia first.
Make sure to unequip specialists from Juliana before you set for Albion. Otherwise, you can't use them in the new region.
Once ready, interact with the escort fleet to leave Latium and go to Albion.

City Status in Anno 117: Pax Romana can unlock new features for the player's city, but most importantly affect the city's attribute.
Albion Storyline - Anno 117 Pax Romana Campaign Walkthrough
When governors first arrive in Albion, they must choose between Cudslip or Cragmore. Generally speaking, Cudslip has more land and is more beginner-friendly. Meanwhile, Cragmore is good if players wish to shake things up. Either way, you can settle on both Cudslip and Cragmore, but the second Trading Post will come with a fee.
When the Procurator offers some money from Calidus, it's safe to accept the Campaign Funds.
After exploring Whitecliff in the An Illusion of Security quest, you'll get a new flagship.
To understand Albion better, follow Manx to Voada's Hillfort by escorting his ship.
While one boat follows Manx, use the other to settle on an island. Around both Cudslip and Cragmore, there are shipwrecks you can investigate to get materials. This can help give you a little boost.
Once you see Voada, your next task is to build a Barracks. Once you build it, Voada will be hostile, so it's best to delay this step until you're ready to defend yourself. Here are some things you can do to prepare:
- Set up production for weapons.
- Construct defense towers.
- Raise the workforce to man the towers and recruit as troops.
- Build military ships.
In Albion, there are two types of workforce, the Roman and Celtic. When you first upgrade a Wader's house, you can choose between the two. If you choose Mercators (Roman), then Smiths (Celtic) will be locked until you get Nobles (tier 3 Roman). Similarly, if you choose Smiths, Mercators will be locked until you attract an Alderman (tier 3 Celtic).
Roman is similar to the Plebeians in Latium, so it would be more familiar to new players. Additionally, the Procurator also sells some of Roman's needs, making it easy to unlock Nobles. Meanwhile, if you choose the Celtic route, you need to put in more work to unlock Alderman.
Once you feel like you're ready, proceed with building the Barracks. Follow the quest instructions to continue with the campaign.
Later, the villagers will come with petitions. Keep an eye on your attributes in Anno 117: Pax Romana as your decision will affect these stats. You can save beforehand to make sure you can adjust your decisions.
Soon, Voada will attack. Make sure your troops are ready. After Voada is defeated, you now need to deal with her. To do this, you can either take the diplomatic or military routes.
In The End of a Crisis event, you can promise to ask for Ben's freedom. You'll be able to fulfill this quest after beating the Albion storyline, so it won't be an empty promise.
Along with the Voada problem, Calidus wishes to secure the Limes, so you'll also have an optional task called Secure the Limes.
The first task is to select Athr's Governor Villa; do as instructed. This will take players to the A Beast of Lore quest in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
Follow the next sets of missions to build walls, gates, and more troops.
Afterward, you must find the Embezzling Tax Collector. Simply pin the quest and press on the task to locate them quickly on the map. Interact with the thieves to catch them.
Finally, Calidus asks for a hefty 50,000 Denarii at the end of the Secure the Limes quest.

Diplomacy Solution - Anno 117 Pax Romana Campaign Walkthrough
To beat the game on the diplomacy solution, you must gain points with Voada until she reaches +1. The following will help increase points with Voada:
- Pay ransom
- Offer gift
- Have a large army
- Avoid Romanizing the Celts
However, the easiest way to convince Voada to offer a ceasefire is by doing these quests:
- The Roots of Our Ancestors: Avoid cutting the sacred tree.
- The Lost Cohorts: Choose not to punish the deserters.
- Celtic Captives: Return the captive to Voada.
Celtic Captives
You get the Celtic Captives quest after completing the other two missions. Head to the Procurator's place and speak to him about the prisoner.
Interact with the top-right cell to choose the right prisoner.
Choose to pretend you want to buy him for labour. The other choice will cause Aodhan to directly get transported to the capital, angering Voada (-40 points).
Pay 20 Eels to buy Aodhan from the Procurator.
Next, choose to return Aodhan to his tribe. This will give a massive +220 points with Voada. If you free him, nothing will happen, but he will be disappointed as he seemingly wishes to stay with the players.
If you keep Aodhan, you will get a -60 points with Voada, but Aodhan will become a specialist for your city.
