The story in Anno 117: Pax Romana campaign begins with your appointment to build Juliana under Emperor Lucius' order. After making certain decisions about the Emperor and Empress, like whether you should bring Sardines for the imperial invitation or not, you will soon have another decision to take. This time, it's about the Empress's daughter, Diana. The Empress wishes for her child to be present for her birthday party, so she asks you to find Diana. Once you meet the Empress's daughter, you have the choice to let Diana attend the party or not in Anno 117: Pax Romana. This choice will occur under the Family Matters quest.

Should Diana Attend The Party In Anno 117 Pax Romana
In a nutshell, it doesn't matter if Diana attends the party or not, as Lucius's storyline will remain the same. However, the story of what happened to Lucius will differ based on Diana's presence. If you care for Diana's well-being, it's better that she doesn't attend, but if you prefer seeing Lucius being humiliated, then it's best to bring Diana to the party.
After making preparations for Julia's birthday, the Empress will ask you to find Diana in Anno 117: Pax Romana. The quest marker will mention that she was last seen in Lilybaion, but a new area will open on the map, marked in red. Hover there, and you can find Diana's ship somewhere in the vicinity.
You can do this to skip the time needed to sail to Lilybaion, but whether you go there first or not will not affect your interactions with Diana.
Once you find Diana and understand why she was there, you have the option to either persuade Diana to attend the party or leave Diana to not attend the party. The choices are pretty much the same whether you're playing as Marcia or Marcus in Anno 117: Pax Romana, but the dialogue will be completely different.

If you let Diana off, she will not attend the party and instead ask you to bring a gift for her mother. Return to the birthday party, and soon, a slave with a knife will come to murder Lucius.
Therefore, whether Diana attends the party or not, Lucius will meet his end, albeit in a different way.
