Players are challenged with puzzles, search and find quests, and hidden pathways as they play Another Code: Recollection. The Nintendo title is a remake of two great cult classic puzzle games, Another Code: Two Memories and Another Code: R - Journey Into Lost Memories. Players can experience each game consecutively, starting with Two Memories and the confounding Blood Edward Island. The day before her 14th birthday, Ashley travels to the island with her aunt in hopes of reuniting with her father, who she thought was dead until recently.

While on the island, Ashley and a ghostly companion named D are searching for clues that might shed light on her odd situation. They will come across a Piano that may not be all that it seems and hints at a puzzle found a couple of chapters later. This puzzle also introduces an important story aspect called ANOTHER Keys. So, here's how to complete the Piano puzzle and play the sheet music in Another Code: Recollection.

How to Solve the Piano Puzzle in Another Code: Recollection

Another Code Recollection Piano Puzzle

After getting inside the Mansion door, Ashley and D will find their way into the Drawing Room on the first floor. Inside is a beautiful Piano and D reminisces of when a girl named Frannie used to play. Players will also see a table with an ashtray, Lighter, and the E Key they can pick up. The E Key leads to the East Wing Hallway on the 2nd floor of the Mansion.

Players must get inside the bedroom with the hummingbird holding a two-leaf clover to begin the Piano puzzle. To do this, they must first get inside the Butler's Safe on the first floor of the East Wing. The safe has the Flower Key (Frannie's Room) and the Three-Leaf Clover Key. Players will find the Sprout Key inside Frannie's room in her Doll lockbox.

Players must get inside the box, and they will be able to pick up the Sprout Key. After entering the Sprout room, Ashley will notice a crooked painting. Players can interact with it to fix it and a piece of sheet music will fall out. D will remember that Frannie once told him there's a puzzle inside the sheet music that reveals the Piano's secret.

Go back to the Drawing Room and interact with the Piano to play the sheet music. D will notice the music sounds lonely, or incomplete, as if it is missing an accompaniment.

Return to the hummingbird photo, and take a closer look at it. Players will notice a music staff and notes at the top of the photo. Use the DAS Camera to take a photo of the music notes and go back to the Drawing Room Piano.

The two pieces must be combined to finish the song and solve the puzzle. Take a picture of the sheet music using the DAS system, just like you did with the hummingbird photo. To combine them, open the photo album in the DAS and use the overlay function to line the music staff up. Then, Ashley can transcribe the notes onto the sheet music.

Play the song again with the added parts and a hidden compartment will open, and a box will fall out. Players will find some story components inside as well as a small computer chip-looking item called a small card.
