Straying from the tried and true Soulslike formula, Another Crab's Treasure offers no variety of weapons; Kril can only whack foes into submission with a trusty fork he'll obtain right at the start of the game. This fork will remain his only means of dealing melee damage throughout the campaign.
Naturally, this means upgrading the Fork becomes the first priority to increase Kril's power level. This is where the Stainless Relic comes in. Players will find a Stainless Relic early in the game with no way of knowing what to do with this item.
Another Crab's Treasure: How Long to Beat
Another Crab's Treasure will take players longer than they think to complete Kril's underwater adventure to claim his shell.
How to Use Stainless Relic in Another Crab's Treasure
The Stainless Relic is a material used to upgrade Kril's Fork to increase its base damage. To upgrade the Fork, players will need to visit New Carcinia, the game's first major hub city. Kril will naturally find this place while searching for his home shell shortly after defeating Duchess Magista in the main story.
In New Carcinia, find the blacksmith's shop in the Lower Crust. It is directly opposite the Bottomfeeder's shop (Stowaway seller) and next to the Moon Snail fast travel point. Speak with the blacksmith crab 'Hammerhead' and he will agree to upgrade Kril's Fork in exchange for one Stainless Relic. If you agree, your main weapon will receive an immediate boost to its ATK stat. This ATK boost is separate from level up stat gain.
To upgrade the Fork again, the cost will go up, and Kril will need to find two Stainless Relics. Players can upgrade the Fork up to five times.
How to Find Stainless Relics in Another Crab's Treasure
There are three ways to find Stainless Relics:
- Item Pickup: Stainless Relics are typically found as pickable items with a golden glow. These items are sometimes visible from a distance, but reaching them requires solving a movement or traversal puzzle of some sort. They're also sometimes hidden in hard-to-reach places that can only be found after thorough exploration.
- Prawn Shop: A Stainless Relic can be purchased from the Prawn Shop in the Lower Crust for 5000 Microplastics. However, it will not get restocked.
- Clam Chests: Stainless Relics can also be found inside Clams, the game's version of treasure chests, which are accessible after solving particularly difficult puzzles or challenges. Some bosses will also drop a Stainless Relic when defeated, though this only happens in the late game.
