Portals are nothing new to the Apex Legends meta, and fans have used them creatively throughout the years. There is one strategy with Wraith, for example, that includes using her portal to 'kidnap' opponents and bring them back to their teammates. Arguably, Wraith's portal can be used more creatively than Ash's portal due to their inherent differences.

Wraith's portal is billed as a way to sneak around enemies, get to better locations, and sometimes get out of bad situations. Ash's portal is much more aggressive, shooting Ash and those who follow straight forward to a location. This allows her to close the distance or shoot out of a bad fight quickly, but not often as creatively, as Wraith. However, one fan shows just how creative desperate Apex Legends players can still get.

Redditor Lexivo recently shared a clip of them playing Ash in a firefight in Fragment. Their squadmate had died, and it was a 1v2 situation. Seemingly realizing this, the Apex Legends enemies pushed on the lone Ash; without many options, Ash used her portal and zipped into the lava nearby, dying instantly. The pushing party did not realize where Ash portaled to and followed, resulting in both enemies also dying in the lava. If the Ash player couldn't win the fight, it seems they chose to take their enemies with them.

To add a little insult to this injury, the announcer can be seen in the clip above showing that one of the other players was the kill leader. Of course, the Ash didn't get credit for the kill, but they successfully baited the aggressive kill leader into lava and still got the announcement, which in and of itself is quite funny in Apex Legends. Being on the other end of this portal bait may not have been as funny, though.

Either way, stuff like this happens all the time in the Apex Legends community and will continue to do so for some time. Fans are waiting for the launch of Apex Legends season 14, and whatever changes it brings to the game, it seems safe to say that players will keep getting creative with their legends. Perhaps some will even survive that creativity, even if that results in fewer laughs.

Apex Legends is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
