One of the appeals of Apex Legends to many players is the large cast of playable characters. While new Legends are added with each season of the game, that does not mean that older characters are no longer viable in the battle royale. In fact, some of the original Legends remain the most popular picks in Apex Legends. One of these classic Legends with a high pick rate is Bloodhound.
As part of the original cast of eight playable characters available in Apex Legends, Bloodhound has remained popular in Season 13 of the game. According to Apex Legends Status, they have an 8.4% pick rate, which is fifth overall. Boasting a kit of recon-based abilities, Bloodhound is able to provide a large amount of intel for their teammates on the battlefield. Recently, the Legend received an impressive albeit unusual piece of artwork.
Ahead of the launch of Season 14 of Apex Legends, it was revealed that EA had partnered with the Koshigaya Rice Paddy Art Executive Committee in Koshigaya City, Japan, to make rice paddy art based on the popular battle royale. According to this news that was reported by EAA!!, the artwork featured Bloodhound from Apex Legends.
Impressively, the design of Bloodhound was clearly visible in the rice paddy field, complete with many of the iconic details of the character. For example, a bird was perched on their arm, while the unique art even included different colors in the design of the Technological Tracker. To finish the rice paddy art, the text “Apex Legends” was seen to the left of Bloodhound. According to EAA!!, the rice field is an impressive 50 meters x 50 meters. Those wanting to see the art up close and personal can take the JR Musashino Line that goes past the rice paddy field in Japan, where they can look at it through a train window.
In addition, Apex Legends is featured in another rice paddy. This time, as part of Japan's first QR code rice field art. Located in Saitama Prefecture, the words “Apex Legends” can be seen in the middle of the rice field, and the code can be scanned with a smartphone.
This rice paddy field art comes as Respawn Entertainment is gearing up for the release of Season 14 of Apex Legends, known as Hunted. Ahead of its release on August 9, Respawn Entertainment revealed that the latest Legend being added to the game is Vantage. It will be interesting to see if EA sponsors any more artwork based on the game ahead of the launch of the new season.
Apex Legends is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
