Apex Legends season 14 is underway, and while the season as a whole and the introduction of Vantage seem well-received, there have been a few issues crop up. Many Apex Legend s players are currently unsatisfied with how aggressive the ring is on Kings Canyon, while one viral bug saw Apex characters get the wrong abilities.
The start to season 14 is interesting, and it'll likely continue to be so for a couple of weeks until the mid-season lull sets in, the meta has been established, and so on. For now, it seems Apex Legends players are learning a lot about the new season, and one player recently found a glitch that ensures players can use a moving heat shield (especially in a time when the ring is more aggressive than ever).
Shared by Redditor SmithyButBig, this glitch is pretty simple to pull off. All players need is the new Apex Legends season 14 character Vantage and a heat shield. As seen below, SmithyButBig was able to send out Echo, toss the heat shield onto the cute little bag, and run around with it by commanding Echo to move as it carries the heat shield. Many fans questioned and worried, in the Reddit thread, if this meant Echo could potentially carry Rampart's turret, but it seems some players tested this and it doesn't work. This, in turn, led to many jokes of Respawn ensuring Echo couldn't carry a turret but forgetting the heat shield, even if it doesn't exactly work that way.

Still, it's a handy glitch and seems easy enough to replicate, at least until Respawn Entertainment decides to patch it. Respawn is likely to in the coming days or weeks, but fans can likely enjoy it in the meantime. It's by no means the most obtrusive or overpowered glitch, as it simply makes surviving in Apex Legends' closing ring a little easier, but it also paints a big target on the player if enemies see a giant heat shield moving through the ring. If players get jumped because of this glitch, then its downsides far outweigh its upsides.
Overall, though, it seems Vantage is settling into the game nicely. Many clips about her abilities have been shared, and she seems rather balanced as of now. This could tilt one way or another in the coming weeks, but she's off to a stronger start than Apex Legends season 13 character Newcastle.
Apex Legends is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
