New season starts are always a big deal in Apex Legends, with season 15 Eclipse beginning in a few days as of this writing. It is bringing with it a new defensive character named Catalyst, a new map called Broken Moon, and a handful of new features such as stickers and gifting.
As soon as the season starts, there are two things players can be certain of in the first few weeks. First, Catalyst will no doubt be a popular character just because she's new, and many players will be picking here if they get the chance first. This will no doubt die down as Catalyst finds her placement in the Apex Legends meta, and the second thing is players will be quickly checking out the various locations and PoIs on Broken Moon. Maps have a big role in the meta, but that takes learning the map. It'll be interesting to see how Broken Moon influences all of this, but according to Respawn, its focus on mobility is one of its stand-out features.
Fans will get to test this out for themselves on November 1, the official launch date for Apex Legends season 15 Eclipse. Based on past seasons, fans should expect the update to go live at 10 am PT/12 pm CT. It's not impossible there's some sort of console-specific or wider problem with the launch that delays it, but this has only happened a handful of times, if that, in Apex Legends history. Usually, while launches could suffer from server issues and the like, they usually launch on time without much of a problem.
Apex Legends Season 15 Eclipse Release Date and Time
- November 1, Approximately around 10am PT/12pm CT
Although there are only a few days until the launch, there is still plenty unknown. Respawn is likely to highlight these in the next few days, but perhaps one of the biggest questions is what's happening with the weapon loot pool in Apex Legends. Or perhaps it'll be a surprise, as Broken Moon no doubt functions differently from other maps.
Either way, aside from Broken Moon and Catalyst, gifting and stickers should be welcome additions. The former, as it sounds, allows players to buy some items in the shop and send them to other players, while stickers are cutesy little cosmetics placeable on items like shield cells, syringes, and Phoenix Kits. Only the player will ever see them, but this is just one more layer of player expression on top of everything else.
Apex Legends is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
