Apex Legends has received some notable bug fixes as part of a new update for August 2025. The update primarily addresses issues with the new season and should improve the gameplay experience for Apex Legends players.

Apex Legends S26-1

The last few months have been an exciting time for Apex Legends players. After releasing a new Legend last season, Respawn has looked to build on that momentum in Season 26 by adding Wildcard, a new permanent mode, along with implementing new balance adjustments for Legends and weapons. While many of these changes have been well-received by the community, there have been some issues reported following Season 26’s launch.

To help squash some of the known bugs, Respawn released a new update on August 13. While not one of the largest patches, it had a significant impact on the battle royale. Specifically, Caustic was tweaked in the latest update. Respawn had wanted to buff Caustic at the start of Season 26 by giving his kit an overhaul. However, his Gas Fighter upgrade was lasting longer than intended, making him even more powerful. This latest update has corrected this issue.

Besides Caustic, several other important Legend fixes were implemented. Thanks to this update, Bangalore’s upgraded smoke should no longer destroy deployables through walls, and the Bocek should have the correct number of arrows when picked up by Sparrow in Apex Legends' new Wildcard game mode. It is worth noting that Respawn plans to roll out another update soon to address Bangalore’s electric smoke. According to the developer, this subsequent patch should resolve inconsistent damage output against enemy deployables.

A couple of other adjustments were made in the August 13 update. A fix for challenges not working as intended when playing Mixtape was rolled out, along with one for loot bins spawning in the wrong locations. Furthermore, the new amp system received a minor change: an icon will now appear on enemy health bars when the player is using an amp. This extra bit of intel could come in handy for teams when making decisions in matches.

Hopefully, this update will improve the gameplay experience for players in Season 26. With the new season only recently getting underway, it will be interesting to see how the meta evolves in the coming months. Bangalore and Caustic have seen surges in popularity thanks to their recent reworks, while Ash is still a common pick. It remains to be seen whether Respawn believes more needs to be done to these characters' kits. Fortunately, the developer releases frequent patches for Apex Legends, so more changes could come sooner than later if needed.
