A new year has just started, and a new anime season is also starting soon. The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 is one of the most-awaited for this season, alongside Sakamoto Days, My Happy Marriage Season 2 and Solo Leveling Season 2.

The Winter 2025 anime season is actually full of potential hits (Winter seasons have generally been the best of the last few years). The New Year is usually a time when many productions drop special visuals to celebrate the holidays, and series with upcoming productions tend to prepare nice gifts for the fans.

New Season Coming Next Week

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 is slated to debut on January 10, 2025. It features almost the same main staff from season 1, except that now Akinori Fudesaka, who assisted Norihiro Naganuma, is now taking his place as director. Naganuma is still in the production, but now working mostly as the head writer (which he also did last season).

What to Expect for the Season

The new episodes will adapt content starting with the third volume of the novel series. We can expect to see Maomao being dragged into more political conspiracies that are intertwined with medical mysteries in the inner court. Also, for those who read the story, we're likely to get the infamous frog scene.

Crunchyroll has already confirmed that it will stream The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 as it airs in Japan. The series will debut subbed, but will get a dub in English (and a few other languages) at a later date.
