The September 9 Apple Event was headlined by the reveal of the new iPhone 16 lineup, which focused on Apple Intelligence (AI) features, improved camera functions, and longer battery life. The iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max models will launch on Friday, September 20, with the 128GB version of the iPhone starting at $799.

Dubbed Glowtime, the latest Apple Event also brought some new additions to the Apple Watch and Apple AirPods product lines. The Apple Watch Series 10 was revealed, which features a larger display and a smaller bezel than previous Apple Watch iterations, and a $399 starting price. A new black variant of the premium Apple Watch Ultra 2 was confirmed to be released alongside the Series 10. Plus, Apple showed off the AirPods 4 lineup, with a new iteration that includes active noise cancelation as an additional feature. The base version of the AirPods 4 will start at $129, with the active noise cancelation version retailing for $179. All the new Apple Watch and AirPods 4 options will be available on September 20.

According to Apple, the iPhone 16 lineup will launch on September 20, with color options of white, black, teal, pink, and a new ultramarine blue shade for buyers to peruse. The starting price of the iPhone 16 will be $799 for the 128GB model. By comparison, the 1TB version of the iPhone 16 Pro Max will carry a hefty $1,599 price tag. These new iPhones will include a USB-C port and a larger battery capacity than past models.

The Action Button on the top left side may be user-customized to perform various functions, and the Camera Control Button on the bottom right side can be used in portrait and landscape mode to adjust pictures. The iPhone 16 and 16 Pro models will arrive just around a year after the iPhone 15's release, which also started at $799 in 2023.

With the launch of Apple's latest devices, the iPhone 15 and other smartphone models will see price cuts to give users various upgrade options across different budgets. Although iOS ports of AAA games are a point of contention with gamers, the new iPhone 16 lineup looks to improve upon its predecessors in all ways. Only time will tell how the market will respond.
