The anime has covered up to Volume 18 now, after Season 5 finished adapting the Freya arc of the novel, and it's very close to the source material, which has already spawned 20 volumes so far.

New Anime Could Be Announced in April

According to the official Danmachi site, the franchise will soon begin celebrating the 10th anniversary of the anime. The official X (formerly Twitter) revealed the commemorative logo:

The site adds that more information will be revealed on April 4, 2025, which is the day when the first episode of the anime debuted ten years ago. Usually, big announcements are made at this kind of event, making it the perfect place for a new anime to be announced, be it Season 6, a new movie, a spin-off, or whatever. The post on the official site teases that big news will be coming in April.

Danmachi Novel May End Soon

In Volume 20, which was released in Japan a few months ago, author Fujino Omori stated that the final arc will start in the next volume, which means that the series is now heading towards its end. While the final arc could last for volumes, the creator is clearly stating that he is preparing the final events of the story.

While there are only two volumes to adapt for now, the anime production could be in talks with the author to prepare the next season with events from the upcoming volumes, and release Season 6 right after Volume 21 or even Volume 22 is out.
