A new ARC Raiders update, version 1.000.006, is now available for download. The first patch since the game's debut, this revision introduces fixes for over a dozen critical issues identified in the day-one build of ARC Raiders, in addition to a few other changes.
An extraction shooter from Nexon's Swedish subsidiary Embark Studios, ARC Raiders had a massively successful launch on October 30, peaking at over 264,000 concurrent players on Steam alone. If user review counts are any indication, at least one-third of the game's early adopters are currently playing on consoles.
PSA: Unlock This Arc Raiders Skill ASAP
While Arc Raiders gives players plenty of points to spend on its sizable skill tree, players should prioritize unlocking one skill before any others.
First ARC Raiders Update Includes Gameplay, Graphics, UI Fixes
All versions of ARC Raiders received their very first post-launch update on Friday, October 31. The patch notes attached to the latest build of the extraction shooter (1.000.006) number 19 items, predominantly bug fixes. Key issues addressed include malfunctioning Augment Effects, incorrect item drop rates, minor geometry glitches, and UI errors. The ARC Raiders proximity chat also received several fixes and should no longer produce robotic voice distortions.
The updated version of the extraction shooter should be a bit more stable than the day-one build, with the new changelog mentioning a fix for one crash trigger, albeit without elaborating. The stability improvements may be more noticeable on PC, as the developer has identified and resolved a memory leak related to Steam avatar images. On a similar note, the October 31 patch fixes a bug causing player Steam avatars not to show up on the Social tab. Another PC-specific fix addresses visual glitches that occurred when using Epic graphics settings in ARC Raiders.
Virtual tracking for the ARC Raiders Codex has been temporarily disabled due to previously identified issues with some objective types not unlocking correctly. A more comprehensive fix that will allow developers to re-enable the feature is currently being worked on. In-game store presentation has also been tweaked, with images now promised to scale uniformly irrespective of the screen aspect ratio. Visual improvements include corrected interior flooring materials, refined lighting in certain areas, and geometry fixes on the Blue Gate map. Meanwhile, the Buried City map's metro extractions have been adjusted to prevent players from getting stuck on train tracks.
Many more fixes are planned to reach the popular extraction shooter in the days ahead. Looking at the bigger picture, Embark has already teased ambitious post-launch content plans for ARC Raiders, which include new quests, maps, and events. Several "bigger updates" are currently planned to debut in the final two months of 2025. Unlike most modern live-service games, ARC Raiders will not be adopting a seasonal content model, at least not initially, with Embark instead aiming to deliver updates and meaningful changes whenever it's ready to do so.
