ARC Raiders has definitely set the bar high for Extraction Shooters and Third-Person Shooters, and Embark Studios deserves nothing but praise for one of the best, most stable launches in the genre. However, many players are still asking for more, thinking about all the possibilities for the future and the many features they would love to see included in this Third-Person Shooter.

From a highly-requested change to one of the most useless healing items in the game, to a feature that would greatly impact the way players interact with each other, but that has been repeatedly mentioned in forums and other social spaces related to ARC Raiders.

Ability to Use Defibrillator When Downed

A Highly Requested Change, For One Of The Most Underwhelming Items

From three different types of bandages to four different ways to regain shields, ARC Raiders have a lot of healing items that can be crafted using the Medical Station in the Workshop. Some of these items can even be crafted on the go, thanks to a certain perk that unlocks the ability to craft items while exploring the Topside. Unfortunately, one of these healing items is not performing particularly well: The Defibrillator. This small device can be carried in the quick-use slot, and somewhat speeds up the recovery of fallen comrades, but not to a degree where it could really make a difference in a team fight.

What's more, players have been asking that this healing device be not only improved in terms of recovery speed, but also be available for use on onesel f when the player character is in the 'downed' state. Sure, being able to recover while playing solo could introduce a nice mechanic, but it would also become a gamble, since the Knockouts would still be a threat for every downed player (plus, being eliminated with bullets). So, if Embark decides to introduce this change, it will need to be a significant boost to this item, which somewhat justifies always carrying one around.

Add Other Raiders To Your Squad in Game

It Would Add An Interesting Option For Free Matchmaking

ARC Raiders is a social game, there's no doubt about it. From a player's standpoint, encountering other Raiders is always stressful, but, as the game says, 'Many tense situations can be defused by using the Emotes.' So why not go further? The possibility of including a 'Party Build' on the Topside, which could somehow allow players to group together, could be a nice change to have in the game.

The Unwritten Rules of ARC Raiders Explained

ARC Raiders places an emphasis on community interaction in its gameplay, so players will want to make sure they're following these unwritten rules.

Sure, it could lead to trouble, exploiting, and even zerging. But if something the community has proven so far is that it holds little toxicity (except for certain isolated cases). Granting players the chance to meet new folks, and party on the go to challenge formidable foes like the Queen, or the newly added Matriarch, or simply request aid with a challenging mission, would be a nice thing to have in the game.

Mix And Match Different Outfits

Cosmetics Are Meant To Show Creativity

It has been noted that the cosmetics and outfits in ARC Raiders, though varied and well designed, have some limitations. Specifically, they don't allow players to mix various parts of the same outfit to create new and cool attire. Games like Destiny 2 and Warframe have proven that the addition of this feature only boosts the community's creativity and sense of collective belonging.

The downsides of this are nearly zero; in other words, letting players express their creativity and adding the feature of letting them dress with various parts of the cosmetics available in ARC Raiders would take the personalization in the game to a whole new level, and offer infinite possibilities for players to create their ideal avatars.

More Knockout Animations

For Those Who Enjoy Hunting Other Raiders

Adding finisher animations to games is not easy. To cite a few cases: Apex Legends, Destiny 2, For Honor, all do great in terms of animations for their finisher moves, and who could forget the original of the species: Mortal Kombat. ARC Raiders has only one finisher, and players are eagerly waiting for more to be introduced. This highly requested change is one of those that has the community split between acceptance and rejection.

Some believe this could lead to exploits, or a 'pay-to-win scheme' (as some animations are bound to have shorter execution time than others). Others are just tired of watching their character smack down enemy Raiders with their fists. Be it as it may, it will obviously be a cosmetic option, and nothing else. Good or not, that will depend on how Embark handles their introduction to the game.

Improved Lighting in Darker Map Areas

Needless To Say, Dark Zones Are Dangerous

One of the main causes of death among Raiders is the lack of visibility in dark spaces. Some of the underground and abandoned facilities of the Pre-Collapse Era are an absolute labyrinth, filled with dark gaps where everything can happen. So, missing an ARC Pop or a hidden player camping is a common way to die in the Topside.

Sure, the flashlight does help, but the game could do with a little bit more illumination, especially during Night Raids (which are, by the way, an absolute death trap for inexperienced players). On one thing players agree: some areas are unnaturally poorly illuminated, more so in places where there are lots of openings in the ceilings, and windows where ARC Enemies can drop down on unsuspecting Raiders, at any given second. Why not let the daylight in, then?

Ability To Craft Ammo Topside

There's Never Enough Of It

Ammo is perhaps one of the most critical resources for all ARC Raiders, and also a source of debate among fans of this Extraction-Shooter. By unlocking the In-Round Crafting skill (and later the Traveling Tinkerer skill), players are allowed to craft various devices that go from Shield Recharge Cells to Explosive and Shocking traps.

So, why don't devs add the ability to craft ammo on the surface as well? Perhaps it will have to do with game balance, or perhaps it is just destroys the purpose of Supply Drops and Raider Caches. Nevertheless, it could be an interesting feature to add to the game. Perhaps even in a similar instance to how Field Crates work, players would need to drop the materials in a special device and then loot it after a while. This would prevent ruining the balance of the game, and add quality of life for players struggling to learn ammo economy.

Better Ziplines

Faulty At Best, Useless In Critical Situations

Ziplines are another of the big-bad, underwhelming items in ARC Raiders and there are two reasons for that: They take far too long to deploy, and they don't offer a significant boost of speed when using them to drop from higher ground to lower places.

To add insult to injury, these items that need to be crafted in the Utility Workbench are an absolute pain to carry around, and unlike the Deployable Shields, they cannot be collected after use. Plus, they make a lot of noise, so everyone in Speranza and the Rust Belt will hear you deploying and using one. If this item wants to have a future in the meta of ARC Raiders, it needs to be tweaked. Hopefully, we will see some positive changes soon.

More Ways To Counter Camping

Seriously, This Needs To Be Addressed Soon

Camping in ARC Raiders is a recurrent issue, and many players have complained about Snipers perched around the Extraction Elevators, waiting for others to try to extract with their hard-earned loot. What's more, there's one mechanic that encourages camping a lot, and that is the persistence of corpses inside the Elevators, even after other players manage to extract. Campers can then go call the elevator loot leisurely in the last stretch of the rounds, and get all the loot without moving from their perch in the match.

arc raiders new update november 2025 patch notes
ARC Raiders Releases New Update for November 2025

ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios rolls out a new update for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with numerous bug fixes and QoL changes.

So snipers just stay around, destroying everyone who gets in an elevator, and knowing all too well they cannot carry all their loot home (due to space limitations). And if players don't know where these guys are shooting from, it gets extremely hard to counter them. Smoke Grenades simply don't help anymore, as a skilled Sniper can simply spam Grenades inside the Elevator until there's nothing left alive to activate the console and close the doors. So, new and cool ways to counter long-range players should be coming to the game. Perhaps a mobile riot shield, or a way to overcharge your shields to prevent being oneshotted. That would be nice.

A More Balanced Matchmaking System

The Current One Is Just Too Random

If something is clear in ARC Raiders, it is that random Matchmaking doesn't always work in favor of newcomers. The way things work right now is so random that you can cross paths with folks using Tier 3 Epic Grade Gear and carrying a Jupiter around, while on the other side, some Raiders are just running with the Free Loadout, and not precisely carrying the best guns in the game.

Perhaps adding queues that are exclusive for Raiders below a certain 'Gearscore' could prevent abusive behaviors. More so from campers who seem to relish on this. Even hackers seem to be quite active lately, and all gamers know that when campers and hackers try to take over a game, the fun is over for everyone. That's one of the most pressing changes that Embark should address, alongside with these matchmaking tweaks to make things fairer for everyone.

Ability To Place Bounties And Bounty Hunter Gimmick

Players Are Already Doing It For Free, So Why Not?

It has come to notice that some players are living the roles of Sheriffs of the Topside. The PvEvP rules of this game allow for various forms of cooperation, and one of such forms has been the PK Hunters that have appeared in Speranza as of late. These individuals only hunt and kill players who repeatedly camp and kill others, and help weaker, less equipped Raiders to come out of sticky situations unscathed. There are some players who fake cooperation using the 'Don't Shoot' Emote.

An unspoken rule among the community is to actually stop shooting each other when this emote is used by either side, but that doesn't necessarily happen, and some players abuse this by waiting for the moment at which others are most vulnerable around them, growing enough trust to start rummaging through a container, and then unloading all their magazines on the unsuspecting victims. For that, these PK-Killers are organizing themselves in Discord and Forums, seeking for a way to hunt these vile Raiders who ruin the game experience for new players. So why not make it official? Set up a bounty system for those who repeatedly kill players (like the Rogue agents in The Division), and deputize those who wish to hunt them down as official protectors of the Topside.
