ARC Raiders has officially surpassed Battlefield 6 in total concurrent players on Steam. While ARC Raiders has only been out for less than two weeks, it has already garnered a massive following and seen a steadily increasing player count as positive community experiences and a solo player-friendly gameplay loop has attracted both new and veteran extraction shooter fans.
Although Battlefield 6 has held a similarly strong player count since it's launch on October 10 that was bolstered by the free-to-play battle royale mode Battlefield RedSec, ARC Raiders has defied the odds to beat one of the biggest shooter franchises out there in number of active players. Both Battlefield 6 and ARC Raiders have received very positive reviews overall, but ARC Raiders does have the edge with a more affordable price point of $40 versus Battlefield 6's $70. Even with Battlefield RedSec's free-to-play monetization model, ARC Raiders unique formula seems to be more popular among shooter fans.
ARC Raiders Now Has More Active Steam Players than Battlefield 6
According to SteamDB, ARC Raiders is sitting at over 460,000 active players, making it the third-most played game at the moment just behind Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2. Comparatively, Battlefield 6 now falls to fourth-most active players with just over 430,000 players on Steam, and many Battlefield 6 players are flocking to ARC Raiders. This data only represents the total number of Steam players active in these games, and with both titles on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as well, it's possible Battlefield 6 may still be leading on one of the other two platforms.
Moreover, Battlefield 6 is still leading ARC Raiders in peak player count with over 747,000 players at the game's peak. Whereas, ARC Raiders' latest concurrent player count numbers represent the game's new peak active player numbers. Regardless, the ARC Raiders community is celebrating appropriately after Embark's brand-new IP has overtaken EA's long-running franchise.
Despite some ARC Raiders server struggles the past few weekends, players are still flooding the game to participate in newly added experiences like the Hidden Bunker Event and Electromagnetic Storm weather condition. There are still some areas that ARC Raiders players wish to see improved, with a heavily debated topic being the need for a PvE-only mode in the face of ARC Raiders intense PvP action that some players would rather avoid. Still, it's clear that Embark has found a formula that is designed to keep players coming back, as ARC Raiders' player count has steadily been on the rise, and that will likely only continue as more content from the game's roadmap rolls out over the next few months.
