ARC Raiders is a very different kind of extraction shooter that puts a much heavier emphasis on the environmental aspects of PvPvE. The game's robotic foes scattered around Topside are anything but a cakewalk, with many being more deadly than even a whole group of Raiders. Yet for new players, their strength can be hard to gauge without facing them head-on, leading to many deaths thanks to underestimating their power.

Leaper Pulse Unit Into the Fray ARC Raiders
How to Easily Get Leaper Pulse Unit in ARC Raiders (Into the Fray)

Players will need to destroy a Leaper (Bison) ARC machine to get the Leaper Pulse Unit to complete the Into the Fray quest in ARC Raiders. Here's how.

It might seem overwhelming at first, but with enough knowledge, these scary ARCs can become quite trivial. Some have very distinctive weaknesses that can be easily exploited, while others have specific strategies that can make fights a lot simpler. Even with those techniques in mind, these enemies should always be respected, as players can find themselves back at Speranza without any of their hard-earned loot in a matter of moments.

Rocketeers

Raining Down Hell From The Skies

ARC Raiders Rocketeer

Rocketeers are one of the deadliest ARCs in the entire game, and time and time again, players underestimate just how powerful they can be. The most bloodthirsty bot in the Server Slam, Rocketeers can be incredibly problematic when encountered out in the wild. Not only are they incredibly fast, they're ruthless, and their damage is high enough to take down players with just a few rockets, forcing them to seek cover indoors or risk falling.

The reason many players underestimate how hard Rocketeers are to deal with is that they may be comfortable taking out individual Wasps or even Hornets with little to no problem, so when they see another flying foe, many assume that a few well-placed shots will be enough to knock them out of the sky. In reality, their entire bodies are heavily armored, meaning that a lot of low-level weapons will be virtually useless for breaking through and dealing any meaningful damage. As such, new players should choose their fights carefully and come back with some more powerful guns and a few higher-tiered grenades as well before they take on these flying foes.

Pops

Save Those Bullets

ARC Raiders Pop

Pops are seemingly weaker enemies that players will encounter in ARC Raiders, yet their fragile exterior hides some deadly explosives that can easily ruin any Raider's day. Found in many of the larger structures around the maps, Pops roll around patrolling for intruders and will quickly turn red at the sight of nearby players who get too close. Once they are aggroed, it is only a matter of time before Pops will speed along and detonate in a fiery blaze, dealing a huge amount of damage and burning anyone in the vicinity.

For the most part, they aren't that big of a problem, as they don't have an armored exterior and can be taken out with just a few shots from basically any weapon. However, if they do manage to sneak past the player's bullets or catch them while reloading, the damage Pops deal can put a sizable dent in their health bar or even straight up kill them. Newer Raiders need to keep an eye out when entering any building; if they aren't careful, one explosion could spell their end.

Wasps

Deadly In Numbers

ARC Raiders Wasp

Wasps are the most common enemies that players will encounter Topside, but their abundance doesn't say anything about their overall power. Typically found flying around scanning for lone Raiders, Wasps often roam in groups or may be accompanied by a larger ARC like a Hornet, making the encounters much harder for players to deal with. Yet even by themselves, Wasps can be quite troublesome, as they can quickly lock onto players and deal a large amount of damage even while they're under fire.

What makes Wasps even more deadly is how difficult they can be to hit. Even if they are down a thruster and smoking in the sky, they will continue their pursuit and maintain their onslaught of bullets. Also, many new players may instinctively run inside to heal or avoid the Wasp's attacks, without knowing that they can fly through doorways or windows. This means that, no matter where players are, they need to keep their wits about them, as a single Wasp can easily float on by and deal the finishing blow to a weakened Raider.

Leapers

No Distance Is Too Far

ARC Raiders Leaper-1

Leapers are pretty terrifying and are seen all across the maps in ARC Raiders, walking around like mechanical spiders and keeping an eye out for any movement nearby. Players who have just picked up the game may see one from afar and try to take some potshots to weaken them, or test their guns, but that can quite easily be their last mistake. With seemingly no effort at all, Leapers can jump 100s of meters both horizontally and vertically to quickly close the distance.

Arc Raiders stirs debate as players confuse design driven tension for toxicity, revealing how its harshest moments hide a truth some overlook today.

They do suffer from a very simple size weakness, which prevents them from entering virtually any structure, no matter how small. However, in the open, they can aggro from pretty far away, and once they have their eyes on a player, they will keep jumping and running until nothing is left standing. Thanks to their reasonably large health pools, players are advised to come back with a better loadout of grenades and guns before trying to take Leapers down, as without the right set of equipment, ammo supplies can run dry, leaving players defenseless to the Leaper's relentless attacks.

Sentinels

Heavy Damage From Any Distance

ARC Raiders Sentinel

Sentinels are quite rare in the grand scheme of things and are only found in set locations in some of the hotter areas on the maps. They function as sniper turrets that survey the area for Raiders looking for loot, and after winding up their shot, they can deal a huge blow from a significant distance. Up close, they don't pose much of a threat, as players can easily use cover to avoid their shots, and their health pool isn't large enough to require a big ammo investment either.

However, if new players are unaware of what the Sentinel's laser means or choose to ignore it entirely, they will quickly regret it and feel the full force of the ARC's attack. Because they can only rotate and not actually move around, players should have no problem finding a nice angle from which to take cover and take them out, but before they are safe, they should remain cautious, as that single sniper shot can be enough to force them to heal. It may even alert nearby players who are more than happy to clean up an injured Raider and take their loot.
