This FAQ guide answers all these questions and more to help prepare eager players before they dive into the game.
ARC Raiders: Free Loadout, Explained
Players can opt for a free loadout when deploying to save their accumulated resources and equipment in ARC Raiders, here's how to get it.
Is ARC Raiders Free-To-Play?
No, ARC Raiders is not a free-to-play game. While the tech tests and Server Slam playtest were all open/free and did not require a preorder of the game, players will have to purchase ARC Raiders on their desired platform to play the full release. (See the last section for pricing information.)

Yes, ARC Raiders will feature both Crossplay (Cross-Platform) and Cross-Progression functionalities on launch. This means players on PC, Xbox One S|X, and PlayStation 5 will be able to matchmake and play with each other. You can also disable (turn off) crossplay under the Gameplay tab in settings.
For players interested in the Cross Progression feature, they'll need to purchase another copy of ARC Raiders on the other platform to continue playing.
Does ARC Raiders Have Pre-Order Bonuses?
Yes, players who pre-order the standard edition of ARC Raiders will receive the Lucky Duck and the Bruiser Bundle. If you're getting the deluxe edition, you'll additionally receive the Astro Bundle as a pre-order bonus.
How Many Maps Does the ARC Raider Final Release Have?
The world of ARC Raiders is called Rust Bell, which will be divided into four different regions/maps on launch. Here's a breakdown of all the maps that will be available in the final release of the game.
- Dam Battlegrounds: This is the map that was playable in the Server Slam beta playtest. Players will come across research stations, swamps, apartment buildings, and a lot of forests in this map.
- Buried City: This is the second map that was available in prior-tech tests. It's essentially an abandoned city that's covered in dunes. Common landmarks on the map include the mall, hospital, apartment buildings, town square, and some old architecture.
- The Spaceport: A derelict space station/facility filled with old technology and remnants of past space missions.

Will ARC Raiders Have PvE or PvP Only Modes?
ARC Raiders is a PvPvE extraction shooter, and there aren't any PvP or PvE-only modes available (at least, on launch). This means players will have to deal with both enemy players and robotic "ARC" enemies in each run.
Can You Play ARC Raiders Solo?
Yes, you can play ARC Raiders solo, in duos, and in trios. All players will need to switch off the "Squad Fill" option before starting the matchmaking process to ensure the game does not fill in missing players in your squad.
The game will try to matchmake players who are queuing for a solo match together, but there's an equal chance you may encounter players in groups of two or three on your runs.
Can You Switch to First-Person Perspective in ARC Raiders?
No, ARC Raiders will only feature a third-person perspective and does not allow players to switch to first-person, yet.
Does ARC Raiders Have an Official Discord Server?
Yes, there's an official Discord server for ARC Raiders live that you can join to chat with other players, and even find squad mates to team up with and play the game.
Will ARC Raiders Have Progression Wipes?
ARC Raiders will not have involuntary progression wipes, like those seen in other extraction shooter games. Instead, players will be able to participate in Expedition Projects. Completing these projects in a specific timeframe will reset character levels, skills, and any other progression elements, excluding any cosmetics or other purchased items.
Completing Expedition Projects and resetting your character will grant players permanent account unlocks (mainly exclusive cosmetics), and temporary account buffs. This is a great way to cater to both types of players: those who are pro-wipes and others who're against the mechanic due to less availability of time (somewhat similar to the Prestige system in Hunt Showdown).
Will ARC Raiders Have Proximity Chat?
Yes, ARC Raiders will have proximity chat between your own teammates and enemy players. Players will also have an option to mute players or completely disable this feature.
