The latest ARC Raiders update, which was released on December 16, includes a new puzzle that rewards players with one of the latest items in the game. Players who are looking to get their hands on the new guitar in ARC Raiders will need to go to some serious lengths to get it, as the puzzle associated with it requires players to press a total of fifteen different buttons in a specific order across Buried City.
Earlier this week, developer Embark Studios kept the new content coming with another major update for ARC Raiders. Known as Cold Snap, the game's newest patch brought a plethora of fresh content for players to check out, including a game-changing new Map Modifier, which features freezing temperatures that will eliminate anyone who stays outside for too long, as well as the Flickering Flames event, plenty of bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and balance adjustments. The update comes less than two months after the monumental launch of ARC Raiders and just four weeks after its North Line update, which brought a new map and the Matriarch to the game.
How to Reset Skill Tree in Arc Raiders
Here is how players can reset their skill trees and get all of their skill points back in Arc Raiders.
Alongside the new Cold Snap Map Modifier and Flickering Flames event is ARC Raiders' newest item, the guitar. In a similar fashion to the flute, which has been available since the game's launch, the guitar doesn't serve much of a purpose outside of giving Raiders the ability to play some tunes while Topside. With that being said, walking around with the guitar or flute is a great way to let other players know you mean no harm and are there for nothing more than good vibes. While the flute can be obtained pretty much anywhere and everywhere, the guitar is slightly different, as it requires players to complete a pretty lengthy puzzle to obtain it.
Buried City Puzzle Rewards ARC Raiders Players With a Guitar
ARC Raiders players have officially worked out how to complete the new puzzle on Buried City, and it requires pressing a total of fifteen buttons around the map in a specific sequence. Once all of the buttons have been pressed, a room will unlock with a bunch of guitars inside and not much else. However, in a game that is so heavily focused on PvP, getting around the entirety of one of the most difficult maps in the game and pressing fifteen buttons, all without being killed, sounds like a pretty difficult challenge. The real kicker is that this is all for a reward that offers no gameplay advantage whatsoever. And, if another player hits one of the buttons while you're in the process of completing the puzzle, it completely resets it.
This isn't the only puzzle available in ARC Raiders, but it's most definitely one of the game's most time-consuming. There are numerous challenges for players to complete on Blue Gate, for example, such as the Ancient Fort puzzle, which requires players to locate and insert three fuze cells in order to unlock the cellar door to the Ancient Fort. Once inside, there is plenty of loot up for grabs, such as a weapons case, drawers, and more.
Many fans may be less focused on completing the newest puzzle, though, as the Cold Snap update appears to have completely broken the Blueprint spawn rate in ARC Raiders. According to the official patch notes, Embark has expanded blueprint spawn locations to improve availability in areas that were underrepresented. However, shortly after the update went live, players began reporting that the spawn rate for blueprints was through the roof. The patch also moved the sought-after Aphelion blueprint from the Matriarch to Stella Montis, which is now appearing constantly for players. It's unclear if Embark intends to lower the rate at all these blueprints are spawning, but I'd advise jumping in and collecting as many as possible, just in case.
