Leaper, previously known as Bison, is one of the bigger ARC Machines that roam the Rust Belt in ARC Raiders. One of the deadly attacks involves jumping from great distances and landing a crushing blow on players, often knocking them out in one hit. Players will need to eventually defeat a Leaper and get the Leaper Pulse Unit from its body for crafting purposes and to complete the Into the Fray quest. Here's how to easily destroy a Leaper and salvage its parts.
How to Get Fireball Burners in ARC Raiders (What Goes Around)
Fireball burners are ARC components that can be used as makeshift fire grenades in ARC Raiders that are also needed for What Goes Around quest.
Where to Find Leapers (Bison) in ARC Raiders (Into the Fray)
Dam Battlegrounds is a map players will be most familiar with, and two confirmed locations always spawn a Leaper in ARC Raiders. One of the locations is just east of the Hydroponic Dome Complex, and the second is near the Water Treatment Control elevator. There's a high chance you'll find a Leaper at either one or both of these locations in a match.
Before you start a raid and enter a match, make sure to take the following equipment to defeat a Leaper in ARC Raiders easily. This list will contain some of the more commonly available equipment, but feel free to equip higher-tier equipment if you have access to it (as it'll get a Leaper down quicker).
|
Primary Weapon |
Anvil |
Both support Heavy-Ammo, which offers high ARC armor penetration. You must have one of them in your weapons, or a better weapon with a higher ARC armor penetration stat. |

Ferro |

Secondary Weapon |
Any |
You can take any secondary weapon with the primary, as long as it can deal medium to long-range damage. Arpeggio is my personal pick in this category, but feel free to choose whatever weapon you're more comfortable with. If you have a Hullcracker, it'll make taking down the Leaper a lot easier. |
|
Utility |
Blaze Grenades |
You should have at least three Blaze Grenades in your inventory. The easy method that will be showcased in the next section depends on it. Players can find Blaze while looting, or craft it (blueprint required) at a level 3 Explosives Station with 1x Explosive Compound and 2x Oil. |
How to Get the Leaper Pulse Unit in ARC Raiders (Easy/Cheese Method)
Once you find a Leaper (Bison) roaming around one of these areas, you'll need to first find a safe spot before starting the assault. For example, you can position yourself inside the doorway of the Domes if a Leaper spawns near the Hydroponic Dome Complex, or inside the Field Depot near the Water Treatment Elevator if you end up fighting a Leaper there.
If there are any other ARC drones in the area, like Wasps or Hornets, make sure to take them out first before engaging the Leaper in ARC Raiders.
Once you've found a hiding spot, shoot the Leaper in its eye with a Heavy Ammo-compatible weapon, like the Ferro or Anvil. This will attract the Leaper to your location, but it can't enter smaller spaces, so you'll be safe inside your hiding spot.
Start the fight by chucking a Blade Grenade aimed at the Leaper's eye to start burning it. While it's burning, keep shooting its eye with your weapons. Once a Blaze Grenade extinguishes, you can chuck another one and burn it. Blaze Grenades are highly effective against Leapers, as fire is their main weakness.
The Leaper may try to retreat during battle, so you can chase it down while being on guard for its jump and EMP surge attacks. After landing enough shots (with Heavy Ammo) at the Leaper's eye while it's burning, it will eventually be destroyed.
After taking down the Leaper, try looting its destroyed eye part first to get the Leaper Pulse Unit in ARC Raiders. Make sure to immediately stash it inside your Safe Pocket, so you don't have to worry about it not making it back to Speranza if something bad happens to your raider during extraction. Now you can either use it as crafting components, or complete the Into the Fray quest in ARC Raiders.
