PvPvE survival extraction shooter ARC Raiders is coming to PC and consoles in 2025. One of the most anticipated games from The Game Awards Show in 2021, ARC Raiders fell out of the spotlight due to a lack of updates on its progress.

Developed by Embark Studios, ARC Raiders was being worked on at the same time as The Finals. Due to the larger positive reception of The Finals, focus was shifted to the free-to-play multiplayer shooter. This further set back ARC Raiders, though the hype for the title is now being drummed up once again.

Announced during Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live, ARC Raiders will launch on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nvidia GeForce Now in 2025. Described on the official website as an action survival shooter, the game is closer to an extraction shooter than the looter shooter it was originally marketed as. For those interested in checking ARC Raiders out, playtests on PC are open for sign-ups on the Steam page. The tests are expected to occur from October 24 until October 27, 2024. No console playtests were announced. Once the testing is complete, players can expect a more solid release date to be revealed for the title.

ARC Raiders Releasing in 2025 on PC and Current Generation Consoles

A teaser trailer was played during the showcase, but little else is known about the actual game mechanics. The world is post-apocalyptic and filled with ARC machines, the common enemy among PvE and PvP players. Players will take on the role of a Raider, someone who takes care of a neighborhood in the underground colony. Missions will venture to the surface in search of supplies, allowing players to explore the world and experience some of the game's survival mechanics.

Originally announced with a launch date in 2022, ARC Raiders release was pushed back and it's now not coming until 2025 Until now, there have been no updates from the studio concerning development or any further delays. Many fans speculated the title was scrapped to allow Embark Studios to have complete focus on The Finals.
