Arc Raiders Server Slam is Blowing Up on Steam

ARC Raiders has kicked off its Server Slam open beta, and the game is being flooded with eager players on Steam. Whether the game can carry this interest and excitement forward to the full release remains to be seen, but thus far, it bodes well for ARC Raiders.

ARC Raiders is the latest game from Embark Studios, and was announced way back in 2021. The game has gone through some shifts since, changing from a co-op third-person shooter to an extraction shooter with teams of 1-3 players, who go up against both the environment and its hazards as well as competing players in a PvPvE experience.

ARC Raiders Server Slam is Off to a Great Start

ARC Raiders' Server Slam Open Beta is intended to test the servers' capacity, and the developer seems to be getting exactly what it wanted in that regard. Though the beta launched less than 24 hours prior to publication time, the title has already experienced a peak of over 189,000 players checking out the game, just on Steam. Since that peak, the number has dropped somewhat to 169,000, but it's likely that it could surge past its record during the course of the weekend, when more players have free time to hop in. The beta will run through October 19, and is free to participate in, so interested players shouldn't miss this opportunity to see what it's all about.

While many fans of Embark's prior game The Finals have been interested in ARC Raiders, it's also doing comparatively well to other major hits as of late. Viral roguelike survival game Megabonk reached around 117,000 concurrent players earlier in October, Delta Force reached 213,000 in September, while Battlefield 6's beta reached a stunning half million concurrent players. Though it seems unlikely to catch up with Battlefield 6, it will be interesting to see what the final numbers will look like at the conclusion of the ARC Raiders open beta.

Those who are interested in the ARC Raiders beta should be aware that any progress they make in the game will not carry over to the full release. However, players who participate can get an exclusive Server Slammer Backpack in the full release of ARC Raiders when it launches on October 30. In order to receive it, players should make sure to use the same Embark ID that they logged into the beta with when they play the full game.
