As an extraction shooter game, ARC Raiders excels at creating tons of content for raiders. When going topside, the PVE content is as much as the PVP. That's one of the main reasons why the game is attracting fans of extraction shooters, as well as those who are casual gamers.
Which Items Are Safe to Recycle in ARC Raiders?
Here are the items you can safely get rid of in ARC Raiders.
At the end of the day, no matter what a player's background is, everyone gets the same opportunities when navigating the topside and filling their stash with good loot. That’s why both extraction-shooter fans and casual players should know these key tips for looting and extracting quickly in ARC Raiders.
Manage Your Stamina
Stamina is More Important Than HP
Looting and extracting quickly require a lot of moving and travelling around the maps. Players must manage their stamina at all times, as they will never stop moving. That becomes critical when facing ARC enemies who will test the character's stamina and punish them severely if they are lacking. An ARC Rocketeer will rain rockets down, and spamming Dodge Rolls will drain all the stamina. Instead, players should run in zigzags towards a nearby cover to avoid the enemy.
Players can upgrade the Marathon Runner and Youthful Lungs to use less stamina and increase it, respectively. These Skills will greatly improve how the character navigates the topside, making them one of the best Skills to upgrade in ARC Raiders.
Put Away Your Weapon to Move Faster
Run, Forrest, Run!
Going around from one location to the next can take a long time because of how large the maps of ARC Raiders are. Not to mention, there are usually some ARC flying enemies guarding these places. If an ARC Snitch or an ARC Wasp catches somebody running, they will outnumber them in no time.
For these situations, it's best to holster the weapon when running in open areas until players reach their destination. This will help the raider move faster, minimizing the time spent in the enemies' line of sight.
Dodge Roll To Avoid Fall Damage
Rolling Saves The Day
There's no way for someone to know what would happen during a raid. Every run is a new set of events unfolding as players react to them. So, there will be moments where jumping from higher ground and taking fall damage is actually the smartest move. Since HP is critical in ARC Raiders and shields partly protect it, it's essential to always keep the raider's HP full.
The game features a mechanic that allows players to press the Dodge Roll button right before hitting the ground, preventing any fall damage. This will also push the raider further, instead of getting them into an animation of being hurt by the fall.
Always Target Weak Spots
Hit Them Where It Hurts
Faster looting and extracting means less time fighting enemies in ARC Raiders. Whether it's ARCs or enemy players, exchanging shots will happen, and taking cover becomes a priority. The best way to end combat quickly is to target their weak spots.
ARC Raiders PSA: New Players, Stop Salvaging These Items
Don't salvage some of these items in ARC Raiders; you'll need it later.
Each ARC enemy has a weak spot on it, like ARC Wasps and ARC Hornets' back thrusters. Shooting their weak spot will drive them off-balance, and they'll eventually fall and explode. Meanwhile, for PVP, aim for a headshot to quickly handle aggressive raiders.
Craft During Raids
It's Called A Backpack For a Reason
Taking too many healing items topside is always a risk in ARC Raiders. A character might be loaded with 10 healing items and then fall a couple of minutes later, gifting everything to another player. Because of that, most players prefer to go topside with fewer shields and heals.
The best way to tackle this issue is by unlocking the in-round Crafting Skill from the Skill Tree. This Skill allows healing items to be crafted during raids. All players have to do is prioritize collecting the required materials, such as getting Fabric to craft Bandages. Players can also upgrade the Traveling Tinkerer to unlock more advanced healing items, improving their chances of surviving ARC Raiders.
Always Have Hatch Keys
There Should Always Be A Plan B
Every round in ARC Raiders has a timer that keeps ticking while players are looting the map. Eventually, the extraction points start closing one after another as the timer runs down. Most importantly, as an extraction shooter game, there will always be the backstabbers who camp next to an extraction point, waiting to steal other players' hard work.
It's more than essential to bring a Hatch Key when going on a serious run, especially with friends. This will significantly reduce the chances of getting into unwanted situations, like having to travel the entire map to reach the last extraction point. Instead, players can simply move to the nearest Hatch and extract safely.
Be Ready For PVP and PVE
ARCs Aren't the Only Enemy
The beauty of games like ARC Raiders lies in the danger lurking in every corner, whether it's from ARCs or other players. It makes a difference to go into raids prepared for both because what can take down ARCs may not be sufficient to get into a PVP battle.
Winning in PVP combat requires weapons that have burst abilities, like fast-shooting SMGs or hard-hitting shotguns. Most of these weapons use Ammo that barely has any armor penetration, making them less effective against ARC enemies. For ARC enemies, players need to use Heavy Ammo weapons like Ferro or Bettina, and lots and lots of explosives.
Prioritize High Value Loot Areas
Higher Risk, Bigger Rewards
Extracting becomes mostly necessary after filling the backpack with loot or after getting something truly valuable. For that, it's important to target high-value areas to get the best loot possible. It's even better to use keys when available to open locked doors, which always reveal great loot behind them.
Players can also upgrade the Security Breach Skill, which allows them to breach security lockers. These security lockers are mostly found in high-value areas, which makes them priority targets to loot. However, these areas are always filled with players trying to get the best loot as well. So, be prepared for multiple heated encounters.
Use Utilities
Gain Tactical Advantage
While ARC Raiders is a shooter game at its core, it still includes a range of tactical mechanics that give an edge to those who utilize them. In PVP, using utility items gives that tactical advantage against other raiders who aren't expecting them.
Players can use a door blocker to hold enemies while the team heals and prepares for another round of shooting. A smoke grenade covers a wide area with smoke, allowing a player to run after being shot from behind. Players can also use utility items to improve their loot, like using Ziplines to get on top of roofs that have high-value loot, or using Adrenaline shots to navigate the map and reach other places faster than other players.
You Can Extract Even After Falling
Crawl Your Way Out
For an unforgiving game like ARC Raiders, it's astonishing that it allows players to extract with their entire loot after falling. This makes it less punishing when the timer is low, and a bunch of ARC enemies are patrolling the extraction point. Players can run unbothered into the chaos and wait for the extraction. Even if the machines downed the raider, they won't finish them off.
Of course, that narrative completely changes against other raiders, as they're not programmed to be kind to a helpless human who just shot them multiple times. The best part of all of this is that raiders can actually use their Hatch keys to escape from a Hatch extraction point.
