As franchise fans should be all too aware, stealth plays an important role in the Assassin's Creed Franchise. This is once again the case in Assassin's Creed Shadows, although if players do decide to charge into an encounter all guns blazing, there's a good chance that they'll end up coming out of it with a wanted status on their head.

From the original to now, every Assassin's Creed game has its highs and lows, but some titles are way better than others.

If Naoe or Yasuke are wanted, a report will be sent out and guards all over the province will attack them on sight. Players can switch characters to get around this, but if a quest requires them to use a character who's wanted, this doesn't help too much. As such, players will likely want to learn how to remove a wanted status in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

How to Clear a Wanted Status in Assassin's Creed Shadows

One of the easiest ways to clear a wanted status is to sit back and wait. Each time the seasons change in Assassin's Creed Shadows, all regional alerts will be reset, meaning Naoe and Yasuke will no longer be wanted after a new season begins. However, as it takes around sixty minutes of playtime for this to happen, some players may prefer a more proactive and speedier solution.

If players upgrade the Kakurega at the hideout to level two, they'll unlock the ability to assign scouts to clear regional alerts. To do so, they'll simply need to head to the map screen and move the cursor to a region in which an alert is in place. They'll then need to hold either the X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox) button for a second or two while the cursor is not on any map icon. Assuming they have two scouts available, their wanted status in that province will be instantly cleared.

It's worth noting that unlike with the changing of the seasons, using scouts to clear a regional alert will only clear the player's wanted level in the province that the scouts were sent. As such, if players want to clear their wanted status in multiple regions, they'll need to send scouts out to each and every one. This isn't really a major issue, though, as they can reset their scouts by visiting any Kakurega. It will set them back 200 mon per scout, meaning it effectively costs 400 mon to remove a wanted status.

Rather than having to worry about resetting regional alerts, players should instead try to avoid triggering them in the first place. The best way to accomplish this is by sabotaging the alert bells in forts and castles. Players don't even need to climb up the ladder to do so, as firing a bow or throwing a projectile at a bell will allow them to destroy it from a distance. They can even do this while enemies are climbing up the ladder to ring it if they're fast enough.
